The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G is a good fit if a light, unusually thin phone with a large, fast AMOLED screen and stereo sound matters more to you than sustained gaming or dependable zoom photography. Its 6.39 mm frame houses a 6,000 mAh battery, but that capacity alone does not guarantee a full day under every workload: in GadgetMatch’s review, hotspot use from about 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. ended with the phone depleted. The trade-off is a media-friendly design with reported heat under prolonged intensive use and camera results that are less consistent than the headline specs suggest.
What makes the CAMON Slim 5G different?
Its defining feature is its 6.39 mm thickness. TECNO lists dimensions of 162.58 × 77.27 × 6.39 mm; GadgetMatch reports a weight of 171 g and found it easy to hold for longer periods. The review also notes that it is not the slimmest phone in TECNO’s lineup, pointing to the earlier SPARK Slim.

That thinness is paired with a large display and a substantial battery rather than a compact, small-screen format. TECNO specifies a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 1,208 × 2,644 resolution. There is an important technical qualification: TECNO says its T1 chip upscales the image to 1.5K from the GPU’s native 1,080 × 2,364 output. The marketed panel resolution and native rendering output are therefore not the same thing. TECNO Philippines’ specifications and its product page describe the hardware and resolution claim.

For watching video or scrolling, the combination of a big AMOLED screen and high refresh rate is a clear part of the phone’s appeal. TECNO also lists dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, giving the device a stronger media focus than its slim silhouette might suggest.

How does it handle gaming and sustained use?
The phone uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e 5G processor, according to TECNO. GadgetMatch found that some demanding games required lower graphics and frame-rate settings, and reported that the phone became hot during sustained intensive use. The reviewer attributed the heat to limited room for cooling in the slim chassis; that is the reviewer’s explanation, not an independently measured thermal finding.
That makes the CAMON Slim 5G better suited to casual play and everyday phone use than to long, graphics-heavy gaming sessions if stable performance and lower heat are priorities. The review’s experience is a useful caution, but it is not a standardized comparison against other phones.

What should you expect from the battery and charging?
TECNO specifies a 6,000 mAh battery and 45W charging. Those figures describe capacity and charging support, not guaranteed runtime. In its review, GadgetMatch reported that hotspot use from roughly 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. left the phone depleted. That is one reviewer’s workload and duration, not a universal estimate for mixed use.
GadgetMatch also reported two full-charge attempts from 0% to 100%, taking 1 hour 22 minutes and 1 hour 23 minutes respectively. These are the reviewer’s results under the test conditions described in its October 1, 2026 review, not a manufacturer guarantee of charging time.

Are the cameras reliable?
TECNO lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP autofocus ultra-wide camera. Although the rear camera area may look like it contains three lenses, GadgetMatch says there are two rear shooters. The review found the main camera usable for everyday photos, but reported inconsistent white balance and color, blur when subjects moved, and poor results beyond 2× digital zoom.
That mix matters more than the megapixel count if you often photograph children, pets, or other moving subjects, or if you expect to crop in or zoom at a distance. The review supports a cautious view of the cameras: useful for ordinary shots, but not consistently dependable across more demanding situations.

What does the MagBadge accessory do?
GadgetMatch describes the MagBadge as a small circular display that attaches using the bundled magnetic clear case. It can act as a monitor for the rear camera and as a remote shutter, letting you frame a selfie with the main cameras rather than the front camera.

Who should buy the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G?
- Consider it if you want a notably slim, light-feeling phone with a large 144Hz AMOLED display, dual speakers, and a high-capacity battery.
- Look elsewhere if long, demanding gaming sessions are a priority, since the review reports reduced settings and heat under sustained load.
- Be cautious if you need reliable moving-subject photos or useful zoom beyond 2×.
- Do not assume the 6,000 mAh capacity will deliver a particular runtime; your result depends on workload, including hotspot use.
