Who won the LCS Summer 2026 final?
Insider Gaming reported that Team Liquid defeated LYON 3–1 in the final to take the LCS Summer trophy. Riot’s official LoL Esports schedule showed LYON beating Cloud9 3–1 under the relative heading “Yesterday,” but did not clearly show the Team Liquid–LYON final result in the page capture reviewed on October 5, 2026. The score should therefore be understood as the result reported by Insider Gaming, rather than one independently confirmed by that schedule page.

Insider Gaming identified Team Liquid jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Villegas as the Kia Finals MVP. Its report reproduced an LCS congratulations message for him; the original social post was not opened, so the award attribution here is to the report.

Insider Gaming framed the final as a reversal of LYON’s strong season. The report says LYON had won both the 2026 Lock-In and Spring titles, while Team Liquid finished fourth at Lock-In after rebuilding its roster before the season. It describes Liquid as improving as the year progressed. Those season placements and the upset framing are reported by Insider Gaming, not separately corroborated by the schedule page.

How did both teams reach the final?
According to Insider Gaming, LYON reached the final after losing 3–1 to Cloud9 in the upper bracket. Riot’s schedule page also displayed a LYON 3–1 Cloud9 result, though its “Yesterday” label did not provide an absolute date in the reviewed capture. The report further says LYON placed third at MSI 2026 and that jungler Kacper “Inspired” Słoma missed most of the LCS Summer regular season during a hiatus.
Insider Gaming described Team Liquid’s final as a methodical, macro-focused performance, crediting map control and coordinated teamfights. It highlighted Josedeodo’s play on Lee Sin, Qiyana, and Wukong. These are the report’s characterizations of the series, not independently measured performance claims.

The report identified Jake “Spawn” Tiberi as head coach. It says Liquid retained bot-lane players Yeon and CoreJJ while adding Quid, Josedeodo, and Morgan before 2026, and credits CoreJJ and Spawn with helping develop the team’s fundamentals. No separate official roster record was reviewed.
