The TV identified as the “favorite budget Mini-LED TV” is the TCL QM6K, a 2025 model. It may still be worth considering if you find it at a compelling price, but the prominent $499.99 offer reported for its 55-inch version was a dated U.S. deal—not a current price quote. TCL’s 2026 budget successor is the QM6L, so compare live prices and verified specifications before choosing between them.
Which TV does “favorite budget Mini-LED TV” mean?
The phrase points to the TCL QM6K. TechRadar used it in an August 27, 2026, deal headline; it is that publication’s editorial description, not a measured ranking or proof that the TV outperforms competing models. TechRadar’s dated deal article identifies the set, while Tom’s Guide’s January 7, 2026, TCL lineup report describes it as TCL’s 2025 budget Mini-LED model.

What was the reported deal—and is it still available?
TechRadar reported that Best Buy offered the 55-inch QM6K for $499.99 on August 27, 2026, against a stated former price of $799.99. The same article said similar discounts applied to 65-, 75-, and 85-inch versions. Those figures describe a historical U.S. promotion; they do not establish today’s price, stock, seller, or availability in other countries. Check the retailer’s live listing for the exact screen size and model before relying on a price.

What is known about its features?
TechRadar’s article advertised Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos support. It gives conflicting refresh-rate information: the prose says 144Hz at 4K, while the deal box says 120Hz at 4K. Without a model-specific authoritative specification to resolve that discrepancy, neither figure should be treated here as the confirmed maximum. If gaming refresh rate matters, verify the exact QM6K size and regional model’s specification and supported input modes before buying.

How does the QM6K fit TCL’s 2026 lineup?
Tom’s Guide identifies the QM6K as TCL’s 2025 budget Mini-LED TV and says the QM6L takes over that budget position in 2026. That makes the QM6K an older model to compare against its successor, not an automatic better buy or a direct performance match. A meaningful choice depends on current prices for the same screen size and reliable, model-specific evidence about picture quality and gaming features.

What should you check before buying?
- Exact model and size: Confirm the listing is for a QM6K, not the QM6L or another TCL model, and check the screen size.
- Current total price: Compare live offers for the same size, including delivery and any applicable taxes. The historical $499.99 price is not a current quote.
- Refresh rate and gaming inputs: Resolve the 120Hz/144Hz-at-4K discrepancy using a specification for the precise model and region you plan to buy.
- Picture and sound evidence: Look for independent testing of brightness, contrast, blooming, input lag, and audio. The cited coverage does not establish those measured results or a controlled comparison with the QM6L.
- Local availability and terms: Check the seller, stock, warranty, and regional model details on the live listing; the cited sources do not establish them.
