SysVis.AI: Run Architecture Diagramming AI Locally in Your Browser with WebGPU

SysVis.AI can run documented text and image models in a WebGPU-capable browser, but it also offers cloud integrations. Learn what local mode requires and how to start the Docker image.

Yes—SysVis.AI documents a browser-local mode for generating and analyzing architecture diagrams using WebGPU. That mode is optional: the project also lists cloud AI integrations, so “100% locally” describes a configuration, not every way to use the app. The publisher says local text generation uses Qwen3-0.6B and image analysis uses ViT-GPT2. A WebGPU-capable browser and the initial model downloads are required. [Project documentation]

What SysVis.AI does

SysVis.AI is an editable system-design diagramming application. According to its publisher, you can start from a natural-language prompt, an image, or Mermaid code, then work with the resulting diagram in the editor. Listed export formats are PNG, JPG, SVG, JSON, Mermaid, and React. These are documented capabilities, not independent test results. [Project documentation]

The project describes a stack that includes React, TypeScript, Vite, WebLLM for WebGPU inference, Transformers.js, React Flow (XY Flow), Monaco Editor, and Zustand. This information is publisher-listed; it does not establish that a generated diagram has been checked against an actual application or its runtime behavior.

What “100% locally” means—and does not mean

The documented local configuration runs its AI models in the browser: Qwen3-0.6B for text generation and ViT-GPT2 for vision analysis. The same project also lists Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Ollama integrations. Choosing or configuring an external provider changes the inference path, so the local-mode description should not be read as a blanket privacy guarantee for every configuration. The available documentation does not specify the exact data flow for every release and provider. Check the current settings and privacy documentation before entering sensitive diagrams or images. msi Gaming GeForce GT 1030 4GB DDR4 64-bit HDCP Support DirectX 12 DP/HDMI Single Fan OC Graphics Card (GT 1030 4GD4 LP OC)
  • Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030
  • Video Memory: 4GB DDR4
  • Boost Clock: 1430 MHz
  • Memory Interface: 64-bit
  • Output: DisplayPort x 1 (v1.4a) / HDMI 2.0b x 1

For the local AI path, the publisher reports approximate downloads of 500 MB for Qwen3-0.6B and 300 MB for ViT-GPT2. It estimates text generation at about 30–60 seconds and image analysis at about 8–10 seconds. These are publisher-reported estimates; no publication year, test setup, or independent benchmark is provided. Actual download time and responsiveness will depend on your connection and device.

Browser and device requirements

Local inference depends on WebGPU, the web platform interface for GPU acceleration. WebGPU.org describes WebGPU and WGSL as W3C standards for GPU acceleration on the web. [WebGPU.org]

  • Complete Package & Reliable Support: Includes the graphics card, both low-profile and standard brackets, a quick start guide, and screwdriver, which make it simple and quick setup process.

The project names Chrome 113+ and Edge as browser options, but a browser name or version alone does not guarantee WebGPU will work on every operating system and device. Support varies with browser implementation, OS, and hardware. Check WebGPU.org’s browser and device resources on the system you plan to use before relying on local inference. If WebGPU is unavailable, the documented local AI mode may not run there; the project also lists cloud integrations, subject to their own configuration and data handling.

docker run -d -p 8338:80 vndangkhoa/sys-arc-visl:latest
  1. Install Docker and run the command in a terminal. It downloads and starts the image, mapping port 8338 on your computer to port 80 in the container.
  2. Open http://localhost:8338 in a browser. The Docker page identifies this as the local address for the running app.
  3. For browser-local AI, use a WebGPU-capable browser and allow the first-run model downloads to complete. The downloads are substantial, and the publisher’s listed model sizes are approximate.
  4. Before deploying, check the Docker Hub page for current image tags and instructions; image details can change. A container running on your computer serves the application locally, but that alone does not establish that every AI provider or configuration keeps inference local.

For development rather than a container, the publisher lists Node.js 18 or later and npm or pnpm, with instructions to clone the kv-graph repository, install dependencies, and start the development server. Consult the current repository instructions for the exact commands; they are not fully reproduced on the cited Docker overview. [Project documentation]

How to judge the diagrams it produces

Treat an AI-generated architecture diagram as a draft to review, not as a verified map of a codebase. The project documents prompt, image, and Mermaid workflows and editable exports, but does not provide independent quality testing or establish that generated connections match deployed services, source code, or observed system behavior.

  • Check that every component and connection reflects the system you intend to describe.
  • Compare generated labels and relationships with source code, deployment configuration, or authoritative design documents.
  • Use an export format that fits the next step: for example, SVG or PNG for sharing, Mermaid for text-based editing, or JSON or React for workflows that use those formats.
  • Keep sensitive material out of the prompt or image unless you have confirmed the selected model/provider and current data-handling behavior.

This distinction matters for browser-based architecture tools generally: a diagram that is generated or assembled from project markers is not necessarily an audit that traces real code connections. One separate browser-based maker explicitly describes project-folder analysis based on marker files rather than tracing actual code connections. [FreeToolOnline’s architecture diagram maker]
