What the source establishes visually—and what it does not
The announcement establishes the character’s role and the events depicted, not a technical model sheet. It does not enumerate armor pieces, materials, colors, facial changes, or animation differences. Those details should be described only after watching the official film or inspecting the relevant game build yourself. A reliable visual comparison can note an element that is plainly visible on screen, identify the exact scene or build, and avoid treating a single cinematic asset as proof of every in-game version.

Blizzard’s media catalog lists the Shadowlands launch cinematic “Beyond the Veil,” alongside other official Warcraft videos. The written Shadowlands materials do not provide an authoritative list of model components or costume changes. It is safe to say that the official film presents Sylvanas in a different story context and that viewers can compare the on-screen design themselves. It is not safe to infer an exact armor inventory, a universal “new model,” or a patch-wide color rule from the synopsis alone. If an article needs those details, it should name the video, game version, or quest scene in which each one is visible.
What actually changes between the portrayals

The Shadowlands story is about a breach between Azeroth and the realm of the dead. These are not interchangeable descriptions of the same event: one is a factional act with geographic and political consequences, while the other establishes a metaphysical crisis that defines an expansion’s setting.
Direction of the story
Warbringers: Sylvanas moves toward an act. Its dramatic question is what Sylvanas will decide when confronted with a dying Sentinel and the pressures of war. The Shadowlands premise moves outward from an act already taken. Its dramatic question is what the broken boundary means for the living, the dead, and the worlds connected by it.
How to compare visuals without overclaiming
Watch the two official videos consecutively and record observations under the same headings: silhouette, clothing layers, weapons, facial presentation, lighting, color palette, camera distance, and animation. Mark whether an observation appears throughout a video or only in one shot. Then separate a cinematic observation from a game-model observation. A cinematic can use lighting, framing, and effects that do not represent the default playable-world asset.

This book is optional further reading. It can deepen a reader’s understanding of Sylvanas’s history, but it is not an in-game appearance and should not be counted as evidence that a particular armor piece, color variant, or character model existed in a given patch.
Why a complete outfit-by-outfit list needs extra verification
