If you mean supercell thunderstorms
A supercell is a highly organized thunderstorm whose defining feature is a rotating updraft. Wind moving at different speeds at different heights can create horizontally rotating air; when a storm’s updraft draws that air upward, the updraft can begin rotating. A dry line—the boundary between hot, dry southwestern air and warm, moist Gulf air—is one setting where supercells often form, but it is not a required ingredient. Supercells can produce large hail, damaging straight-line winds, heavy rain, lightning, and tornadoes. One storm does not necessarily produce every hazard, and some supercells do not produce heavy rainfall. The State of Idaho’s 2018 hazard mitigation plan describes exceptionally strong updrafts of 150–175 mph; that is a historical figure reported by the plan, not a current measurement of every supercell. The plan also gives estimates of about 100,000 U.S. thunderstorms per year and approximately 10 percent classified as severe; those, too, are estimates reproduced in the 2018 document, not current annual counts. For extreme rainfall, use precise weather terminology. NASA Earth Matters notes that “rain bomb” is not an established meteorological term; extreme-rain systems may include supercells, squall lines, or isolated cells. NASA Earth Matters’ terminology discussion.

If you mean artificial cells and the Super Cells project
A workshop documented by Civic Creative Base Tokyo demonstrated making capsule-like artificial-cell structures from lipids and water. Lipid molecules have parts that interact differently with water, and adding water to lipids can form a membrane-like capsule. Workshop participants used specialist equipment—including vortex mixers, centrifuges, pipettes, and a fluorescence microscope—and the report says participants produced round structures. It is a record of a supervised workshop, not a complete at-home protocol, and the participants discussed whether the structures should count as alive rather than establishing that they were living cells.
The workshop was led by artist Fukuhara Shiho and artificial-cell scientist Kuruma Yutetsu. HUMAN AWESOME ERROR’s broader Super Cells project brought artistic narrative together with scientific research and questions of cell ownership, research ethics, and identity. According to the CCBT account, it involved growing Fukuhara’s cancer cells and observing their interaction with regenerative immune cells derived from her own blood. The project’s final exhibition, Super Cells Infinite, ran February 11–24, 2025, at CCBT; those dates are historical, not an indication that the exhibition is currently open.
