Its appeal is a single workflow for drafting cards, practicing recall, and finding cards that need more attention. Those are features the service advertises—not independently verified evidence that it improves grades or learning outcomes.
What Study Spark is—and which product this article covers
This article is about the notes-and-PDF flashcard service at studyspark.io. Its site says learners can paste lecture notes, upload a PDF, or create a deck manually. The service says Claude extracts testable facts and drafts cards that users can edit.

A separate iOS App Store product named “StudySpark: AI Flashcards App,” listed under seller Stanley Delacruz, also appears in search results. That listing describes imports from voice recordings, PDFs, images, audio, video, and text, as well as quizzes and spaced repetition. Those features should not be assumed to belong to the studyspark.io service; the reviewed material does not establish that the two products are connected. The listing is for the US storefront and may change. See the App Store listing.

Review the generated cards before studying
Study Spark says Claude extracts testable facts and creates editable flashcards. Read each card against your notes: correct errors, restore important context that was omitted, and rewrite prompts that could have more than one reasonable answer. The reviewed sources do not quantify generation accuracy, so treat AI output as a draft rather than a verified answer key.
-
Practice and rate recall
The site says its spaced-repetition scheduler uses SM-2 and asks learners to rate cards Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. The ratings inform when cards return to the review queue. This describes the product’s stated implementation; it is not an independent assessment of its scheduling or learning effects.

Use public decks cautiously
Users can browse and fork public decks, according to the site. A shared deck can save setup time, but check its facts and wording against your own class materials—especially when preparing for a high-stakes exam.

What the product features do—and do not—establish
The central pitch is convenience: turn existing notes or a PDF into editable cards, then use scheduled recall practice and progress views to organize review. Study Spark’s homepage says, “Paste notes or drop a PDF. Claude turns it into flashcards in seconds.” That is the company’s marketing language, not a measured speed guarantee.
The official site describes the SM-2 method and its card-rating buttons, but the reviewed sources do not establish independent learning research or validated learning gains for Study Spark itself. Its feature list, user ratings elsewhere, or a completed streak cannot by themselves show that it will improve exam performance. The service’s own homepage is at studyspark.io.

Privacy, AI processing, and account considerations
Study Spark’s privacy policy, last updated June 3, 2026, says the service collects and stores account details, study activity, and submitted material. It says Google sign-in provides a name, email address, avatar, and Google account identifier; stored study data can include decks, cards, hints, ratings, tags, uploaded images, and study-session activity. The policy says submitted text and PDFs are sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI for processing and are not used to train AI models. It also lists Google Cloud Platform, Google AdSense, Auth0, and Plausible Analytics among providers, and says the service does not sell personal information. These are the provider’s disclosures, not findings from an independent privacy audit. Read the privacy policy.
The same policy says account and profile data are retained while an account is active; login and AI-use events are aimed at a rolling 12-month retention window; and deletion requests are handled within 30 days, subject to exceptions described in the policy. It says the service is operated from the US and describes processing through Google’s US-central1 and global endpoint infrastructure. The policy describes the service as intended for people aged 13 and older, with parent or guardian supervision and consent for ages 13–18; it also states additional parental-consent requirements for users under 18 in India. Review the current policy for the details that apply to your location and circumstances.
Who may find Study Spark useful
It may suit a learner who already has digital notes or PDFs and wants an editable first draft of recall questions, plus a queue and views for organizing subsequent practice. It is less suited to anyone who expects every generated card to be accurate without checking, needs independently demonstrated learning results, or wants to infer features of the web service from the similarly named iOS listing.
The site says users can start free, but the reviewed sources do not establish current free-tier limits or a reliable price comparison. Check the service’s current terms before relying on a particular allowance or cost. If you prefer writing cards by hand or want an offline alternative, blank flashcards or index cards are optional; they are not required or endorsed by Study Spark.
