The closest match to “super-elastic wire that stretches without losing power” is a patent describing a stretchable conductor composite. Its abstract claims unusually large extension with a limited resistance change, but those figures are patent claims—not independently verified specifications for a product you can buy.
What “stretches without losing power” means
For a conductor, “without losing power” is best understood as maintaining electrical continuity and keeping resistance from changing significantly as the conductor extends. Those properties must be measured under a stated amount of stretch. Mechanical superelasticity describes something different: a material’s ability to recover its shape after deformation.

That distinction matters because a NiTi (nickel-titanium, or Nitinol) wire may recover after bending without being designed to stretch dramatically while carrying current. A claim about shape recovery alone does not establish stable electrical performance under extension.
The stretchable-conductor design behind the strongest claim
A 2018 patent abstract from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, describes a composite conductor with a compliant conductive fiber arranged helically around an elastic substrate. The helical path can accommodate extension differently from a straight, taut conductor.

- 2pcs,Thin, strong, smooth, and made completely of 316L stainless steel. Once you start working with this thread you'll quickly agree its optimal for any wearables work!
- It also has fairly low resistivity, 16 ohms per foot so you can use it to drive LEDs and other electronic components that use under 50mA
- Comes in a small metal (or plastic) bobbin with 23 meters wound on.
- This is conductive stainless steel sewing thread. It's very thin, strong, smooth that is suited to build wearable products
The patent abstract claims a maximum stretch range of up to 100 times the initial length and a relative resistance change below 15%. These are the patent’s reported claims, not independent test results or verified normal operating specifications for a commercially available wire. The abstract does not establish how a product performs across repeated cycles or under particular operating conditions. Read the patent record.
How this differs from superelastic NiTi wire
Supplier material describes superelastic NiTi wire that tends to recover its memorized straight form after bending stress is removed, with retractable antennas given as an application. That is useful mechanical recovery behavior, but it is not evidence that resistance remains stable when the wire is pulled longer. See the supplier material.

- Soldering Gun in a Jar Wire glue-the solution when you can't find the soldering iron, don't want to bother, are out in the woods, don't quite trust a fifth-grader with a hot gun, can't reach the connection with both hands, whatever. This stuff conducts low voltage AC and DC circuits in a permanent bond and is easy to use. Our high-tech support group suggests that a toothpick is a good way to apply it. Cures overnight. Our each is a 0.3 oz/9ml jar.
NiTi also appears in experimental mechanisms that combine shape-memory actuation with superelastic recovery. A 2025 prosthetic-finger study used shape-memory wire alongside superelastic wire; its abstract reports 54° of bending at the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint and 22° at the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint for that particular configuration, with the superelastic wire assisting retraction. Those angles describe one prototype, not a general specification for NiTi wire. Read the 2025 study.

Choose according to the job: an elastic electrical connection needs evidence about conductivity during extension, while a recoverable mechanical element needs evidence about its shape and force behavior. Do not compare their specifications as if they were the same kind of product.

- Low Resistance Conduction: Stretchable non-magnetic wire with no break point ensures stable signal for phone chip repairs.
- Insulation Enameled Coating: Straight easy-to-tin surface prevents short circuits during soldering and flying line operations.
- 120m Long Spool: Extended length allows multiple repair projects without frequent replacement, perfect for continuous use.
- Portable Storage Box: Compact carrying case keeps the wire organized and -free for on-the-go electronics maintenance.
- Resistance change under load: Look for measurements at specific extension ratios, not just a statement that the wire is conductive.
- Maximum extension: Check whether the figure is a one-time stretch limit, a working range, or a tested repeated-cycle value.
- Conductor construction: Determine whether the conductive path is straight, coiled, braided, or otherwise arranged to accommodate motion.
- Cycle life: Find out how resistance and continuity change after repeated stretching and release.
- Mechanical and environmental limits: For either category, check diameter, force behavior and temperature range against the application.

A patent description, supplier application note and prototype-paper result answer different questions; none alone is a substitute for a product specification that matches the intended use. “Stretchable conductive wire” is a useful search phrase for conductors intended to extend while carrying current. Confirm the construction and resistance-versus-extension data for any candidate rather than assuming that “super-elastic” means electrically stable when stretched. For shape recovery after bending, specialist superelastic NiTi or Nitinol wire is a related option, but its mechanical specifications should guide selection.
