StreamYard vs OneStream Live for 24/7 Prerecorded YouTube Channels

OneStream Live documents 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming on Enterprise for runs up to 30 days; StreamYard documents scheduled prerecorded broadcasts with plan-based duration limits.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

OneStream Live is the clearer documented fit for a continuous prerecorded YouTube channel: its 24/7 mode is YouTube-only, requires an Enterprise plan, and supports runs of up to 30 days. StreamYard supports scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, but its published duration limits describe individual scheduled videos—not a built-in 24/7 looping workflow. If you want a cloud option to consider first, StreamNeo keeps uploaded videos running on YouTube from the cloud, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with a free first day.

Which service fits a 24/7 prerecorded YouTube channel?

For the specific job of continuously looping prerecorded video on YouTube, OneStream Live is the direct match documented in the available product guidance. Its 24/7 feature requires Enterprise and allows a maximum 30-day duration per scheduled run, according to the OneStream Live Help Desk guide last updated September 3, 2026 (How to Start 24/7 Live Streaming?).

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

StreamYard is a fit for scheduled prerecorded broadcasts that start automatically at a chosen time. Its help documentation sets maximum video durations by plan—two hours on Core, four hours on Advanced, and eight hours on Teams and Business—but does not establish an equivalent continuous prerecorded loop (StreamYard: Pre-recorded streams). The distinction matters: the ability to stream for a long time in general is not the same as a product feature that repeatedly plays prerecorded material unattended.

Side-by-side comparison

Question StreamYard OneStream Live
Documented 24/7 prerecorded YouTube loop Not established in the cited scheduled prerecorded-broadcast guide. Yes; dedicated 24/7 mode for YouTube.
Plan and run-duration qualification Scheduled video limits: Core, two hours; Advanced, four hours; Teams and Business, eight hours. Enterprise required; up to 30 days per run.
Prerecorded workflow Schedule a prerecorded video to go live automatically; simultaneous scheduled streams and upload constraints vary by plan. Upload or select video, choose the YouTube channel, set stream details and duration, then schedule. Its broader feature overview also describes prerecorded playlists from device or cloud storage.
General paid-streaming limits StreamYard says paid plans have no platform-side streaming limits, subject to destination restrictions. That statement does not establish a continuous prerecorded loop. The 24/7 mode has a stated maximum of 30 days per scheduled run.

UNISHEEN 1080P60 HDMI Video Encoder, H.265/H.264 Live Streaming Encoder, HDMI to RTSP/RTMP/SRT/HLS/WebRTC IPTV Encoder for YouTube Facebook Live, Browser Setup, No PC Software Needed
  • 【Hardware H.265/H.264 Encoding at 1080P60】Dedicated hardware encoder delivers broadcast-quality 1080P60 streams with H.265/H.264 compression. Reduces bandwidth usage by up to 50% compared to legacy H.264-only solutions, while maintaining crisp, crystal-clear video output.
  • 【Broad Protocol Support for IP Distribution】 Supports SRT, RTMP(S), RTSP, UDP, HTTP, HLS, WebRTC, TRTC, Icecast and SHOUTcast — integrate seamlessly with CDNs, surveillance NVRs, IPTV systems and browser-based monitoring dashboards. One device replaces multiple single-purpose streaming boxes.
  • 【Browser-Based Setup in Minutes】 Set up in minutes through any browser — no software, drivers or OS compatibility issues. DHCP is enabled by default to prevent IP address conflicts on your network. Note: basic networking knowledge (IP address, RTSP/RTMP configuration) is recommended for advanced streaming setups.

When StreamYard makes sense

Choose StreamYard when you need a prerecorded event to begin automatically on a schedule and the planned video fits your account’s duration and upload constraints. The published plan limits are two hours for Core, four for Advanced, and eight for Teams and Business. Check the current account plan details before scheduling, particularly if you need several prerecorded broadcasts at once.

StreamYard also says paid plans have no platform-side streaming limits, while destination limits still apply. Its help page says YouTube has no time limit for a stream, but only the last 12 hours will be recorded. These are statements about general live-streaming limits and recording, not confirmation that StreamYard automatically loops a prerecorded video around the clock (StreamYard streaming limits).

When OneStream Live makes sense

Choose OneStream Live if you specifically need its documented 24/7 YouTube mode and can use Enterprise. The stated 30-day maximum applies to a scheduled run, so a longer-running channel needs a plan for what happens at the end of each run and whether another run must be scheduled.

What the workflow covers

  1. Upload or select the prerecorded video or playlist.
  2. Choose the YouTube channel as the destination.
  3. Set the stream details and the run duration, within the 30-day maximum.
  4. Schedule the broadcast and check the destination stream in YouTube Studio.

OneStream’s overview says scheduled prerecorded streams can use device or cloud storage and playlists can queue videos; availability and limits may depend on the account and workflow (OneStream Live streaming options). The dedicated 24/7 guide describes the feature as exclusive to YouTube and requiring Enterprise (OneStream Live 24/7 guide).

Another cloud option: StreamNeo

For creators comparing ways to keep a prerecorded YouTube stream running, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so a computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot; StreamNeo says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, with one free day per account.

All plans include one always-on stream per slot, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops, and support from the StreamNeo team. Only the billing period changes. Pricing is Daily $0.99 per day · Weekly $2.99 per week · Monthly $9.99 per month · 6 months $49.99 for 6 months · Yearly $89.99 a year. India-based creators can pay by UPI or card; card checkout is available worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.

What YouTube archiving and DVR mean for a continuous stream

Do not assume that a multi-day broadcast will become one complete replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all (YouTube Help: Archive live streams). Keep the original video files and any separate backups you need; the live broadcast itself is not a dependable archive strategy for a long-running channel.

DVR is also not guaranteed for very long streams. OneStream’s advanced scheduling documentation lists YouTube DVR as an option, but YouTube says rewind and DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable when a stream exceeds 12 hours (OneStream advanced scheduling; YouTube Help: DVR on live streams). Treat DVR as a viewer convenience, not a substitute for retaining source files.

Rights and monetization are separate from streaming capability

A service’s ability to play a video live does not clear the rights to its footage, music, or other material. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to hold the necessary rights, including applicable music licensing rights. Confirm that your permissions cover continuous live use and any archive that YouTube may create (YouTube Terms of Service).

Monetization is a separate decision from technical eligibility to stream. YouTube applies its channel monetization policies to livestreams and expects original, authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible. Its reused-content policy is distinct from copyright enforcement, so permission to use material by itself does not establish monetization eligibility (YouTube channel monetization policies). A loop feature should not be treated as evidence that a channel or video will qualify for monetization.

How to choose

  • Need the documented OneStream 24/7 feature and can use Enterprise: OneStream Live is the more directly matched option, subject to its 30-day run cap.
  • Need scheduled prerecorded events rather than a continuous loop: StreamYard documents automatic scheduled broadcasts, with duration limits determined by plan.
  • Want cloud looping for uploaded YouTube videos without leaving a computer running: consider StreamNeo’s upload, stream-key, and go-live workflow.
  • Need a complete replay or guaranteed DVR for a multi-day broadcast: none of these product features removes YouTube’s archive and DVR constraints; keep source files separately.

Troubleshooting common decision and broadcast problems

The StreamYard video will not fit the schedule

Check the plan’s published maximum for prerecorded video length: two hours on Core, four hours on Advanced, and eight hours on Teams and Business. Also check the current simultaneous scheduled-stream and upload constraints in your account. If the goal is a continuous loop rather than one scheduled event, the documented duration limits do not prove that StreamYard supplies that workflow.

The OneStream 24/7 option is unavailable

Confirm that the account has Enterprise access and that YouTube is selected as the destination. The documented 24/7 mode is YouTube-only; other destinations are not covered by this feature guide. Check that the requested run does not exceed 30 days.

The stream ended or YouTube stopped receiving it

Check the destination’s live status in YouTube Studio, the scheduled run’s state in the streaming service, and whether the scheduled duration has elapsed. For an unattended channel, know how the service handles a dropped YouTube connection and whether a fresh run must be scheduled after the maximum duration. StreamNeo’s stated feature includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; the cited StreamYard and OneStream documentation does not establish a comparative reliability or uptime rate.

The live broadcast is missing or incomplete in the archive

For a stream longer than 12 hours, YouTube warns it may not be captured at all. Retain a separate copy of each source video and do not plan on YouTube producing a complete archive of a continuous broadcast.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Viewers cannot rewind far enough

YouTube may limit or disable DVR for streams longer than 12 hours. If rewind access matters, do not promise it for a continuous multi-day stream; provide separately retained or published video where appropriate.

A stream receives a rights claim or monetization is limited

Review rights for every video and music track specifically for livestream and archive use. Separately assess whether the channel’s overall output meets YouTube’s originality and reused-content policies; a license does not guarantee monetization eligibility.
