If Streamlabs Mobile stays on “Connecting” when you try to go live on YouTube, first confirm that YouTube live streaming is enabled for your channel. Then use the workaround that matches your broadcast: try landscape orientation, or choose an existing scheduled broadcast with “Active event” instead of creating a new one. If Streamlabs shows a live timer but YouTube has no stream, check Disconnect Protection; that is a different problem from a connection that never starts.
1. Check that YouTube has enabled live streaming for your channel
If this is your channel’s first mobile livestream, confirm that live streaming is enabled before repeatedly retrying in Streamlabs. Streamlabs’ mobile guide says first-time activation requires phone verification and a 24-hour setup period: Streamlabs’ mobile streaming guide. Its FAQ also says “Invalid Credentials” can mean the channel is not enabled for live streaming; verify the channel, allow the activation period, then try again: Streamlabs Mobile FAQ.

If you have streamed successfully before, this first-time activation check is less likely to explain the issue. Continue to the broadcast setup and symptom checks below.
2. Try the workarounds for Streamlabs’ documented YouTube mobile issue
In a notice dated September 3, 2026, Streamlabs described YouTube mobile problems that can involve duplicate broadcasts, a broadcast that never goes live despite the app appearing to start, or an RTMP-related error when streaming vertically. Streamlabs said it had released updates intended to resolve the issue, and recommended these workarounds for users still affected: Streamlabs Mobile: Issues going live with YouTube.

- Switch to landscape. If you are trying to stream vertically and see an RTMP or broadcast-creation error, rotate the phone to horizontal orientation and try again.
- Use an existing broadcast. If you already have a suitable scheduled or active YouTube broadcast, select “Active event” in Streamlabs rather than “Create event.” This can avoid creating another event when the new-broadcast flow is the part failing.
These are targeted workarounds for the issue Streamlabs described; they are not established fixes for every cause of a connecting failure. The notice does not identify particular phone models, operating systems, app versions, or account groups as affected.
3. Identify whether Streamlabs is connected when YouTube is not
Look at both Streamlabs Mobile and your YouTube channel. If Streamlabs shows a live timer, FPS or bitrate values, or a Stop control, but YouTube has no live stream, you may have the “app looks live but isn’t live on platform” symptom. Streamlabs says Disconnect Protection can be involved if it is enabled but the app has not successfully connected to Streamlabs’ servers. Its suggested options are to turn off Disconnect Protection or enable Multistream on Streamlabs.com: Streamlabs Mobile FAQ.

If Streamlabs remains on “Connecting” without showing an active stream, this false-live branch may not apply. Do not treat it as proof that YouTube received the broadcast.

4. Review mobile settings and retry one relevant change at a time
Streamlabs’ mobile guide points users to Streaming Settings for video, audio, camera, platform, and advanced options. Before another attempt:

- Close other open apps, as Streamlabs recommends in its mobile guide.
- If you are using the camera or microphone, check that Streamlabs has the corresponding phone permissions.
- Confirm the selected streaming platform and review only the settings relevant to the problem.
- Make one change, retry, and note the result. This makes it easier to tell whether orientation, event choice, or a setting affected the outcome.

5. Separate a weak mobile connection from an account or broadcast error
Streamlabs describes Network Boost as a way to use more than one internet connection, such as Wi-Fi and cellular data, to support reliability in unstable locations. Its FAQ identifies Network Boost as a Streamlabs Ultra feature: Streamlabs Mobile FAQ. That description concerns connection reliability; it does not say Network Boost fixes channel activation, event creation, vertical-stream RTMP errors, or an app that falsely appears live. Check the account and event branches first when the error points to those issues.

6. Match exact YouTube settings errors to their status
If the exact message is “Failed to update YouTube settings,” “Failed to update platform settings,” or “403 Forbidden error,” Streamlabs published a separate notice dated September 8, 2026, marked resolved: Streamlabs Mobile: Failed to update YouTube settings. That status is relevant to those messages; it does not establish that all “Connecting” failures share the same cause.
7. When the stream still will not start
Streamlabs’ September 3, 2026 notice asks users who continue to experience the documented issue to submit a support ticket. Include information that helps distinguish account readiness, event creation, orientation, and a false-live state:

- Whether YouTube live streaming is enabled for the channel.
- Whether you are streaming vertically or horizontally.
- Whether you chose “Create event” or “Active event.”
- The exact error text, if one appears.
- Whether Streamlabs shows a live timer or controls while YouTube has no stream, or whether Streamlabs never gets past “Connecting.”
Submit the ticket through Streamlabs Support. Providing these details is useful diagnostic context; Streamlabs’ notice specifically directs continuing cases to support.
