If your Streamlabs Mobile YouTube stream ends as soon as your phone locks, keep the device unlocked for the broadcast. Streamlabs’ guidance is explicit: “If your device locks, the stream will end.” The reviewed guidance does not identify a Streamlabs setting that keeps mobile screen capture running after the phone locks.
Keep your phone awake while streaming
Before starting, adjust your phone’s display timeout so the screen stays on for the length of your broadcast, then avoid pressing the power button or letting the device lock. The exact setting name and path vary by phone and operating system; the available guidance does not specify a universal menu path.

Streamlabs Support’s How to Stream Mobile Games guide, updated September 30, 2026, says to stay unlocked while live because a locked device ends the stream. Treat the unlocked screen as a requirement for this screen-capture workflow, not as a setting inside Streamlabs that can be overridden.

Streamlabs says that screen capture puts its app in the background and leaves it effectively suspended. On iOS, Streamlabs disables widgets during screen broadcasting to reduce the risk that the operating system kills the app, according to its Mobile FAQ. This helps explain why screen sharing is vulnerable to app lifecycle behavior, but it is not a device-by-device explanation and should not be assumed to describe every camera stream or phone.

If the stream stops while the screen is still awake
A stop that happens only when the device locks points to the lock behavior above. If the broadcast ends while the screen remains awake, check other causes separately:
- Close other apps to reduce the chance of lag or crashes.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb to avoid interruptions from notifications.
- Check that the connection is available and stable.
Streamlabs lists closing other apps and using Do Not Disturb as general stream hygiene suggestions in its mobile gameplay guidance. They may help with interruptions or performance issues, but Streamlabs does not present them as fixes for a phone locking.

Network Boost is not a lock-screen fix
Streamlabs describes Network Boost as using multiple internet connections to support connection reliability. It does not claim that the feature keeps screen capture active when a phone locks. A network feature cannot be treated as a substitute for keeping the device awake.
Check YouTube eligibility only if you cannot start
YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements address whether you can begin a mobile broadcast; they do not explain a stream ending precisely when the screen locks. YouTube Help says the channel must be verified, live streaming must be enabled, the channel must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days, and the creator must have at least 50 subscribers and a compatible device. If you meet those requirements but the broadcast ends as the phone locks, eligibility is a separate issue: keep the screen awake during the stream.
When to consider a different streaming workflow
YouTube documents mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as distinct ways to go live in its live-streaming options. If keeping a phone unlocked is impractical, you can investigate another workflow, but the guidance cited here does not verify a particular encoder setup as a fix for this Streamlabs Mobile symptom.
