If viewers can hear you but not your game or video, first check how your phone captures that sound: on Android, add an Internal Audio source in Streamlabs; on iPhone or iPad, Streamlabs’ documented workaround is to disconnect headphones so the phone’s speakers can be picked up by its microphone. Missing voice or alert sounds need different checks, so identify which audio source is silent before changing settings.
First identify which sound is missing
Check a recent YouTube replay or make a short test broadcast and distinguish among three sources:

- Game or video audio: the sound playing on the phone.
- Your voice: sound captured by the phone or an external microphone.
- Alert audio: sounds associated with Streamlabs alerts.
These sources use different settings. A working microphone does not prove that game audio is being captured, and audible game sound does not prove that your microphone is unmuted. Streamlabs’ Mobile Streaming FAQ and mobile settings guidance describe separate audio and capture controls.
Fix missing game or video sound
On iPhone or iPad
- Disconnect wired and Bluetooth headphones.
- Play the game or video through the phone speakers at a reasonable volume.
- Make a short test stream or recording, then check whether the playback sound is present.
Streamlabs says iOS game sound is captured when the phone microphone picks up audio from the phone’s speakers; headphones can prevent that pickup. This is an acoustic workaround, not a setting that enables direct internal-audio capture. Because sound is picked up by a microphone, nearby room noise may also be captured. In Streamlabs, check Streaming Settings > Audio Settings and Screen Capture Settings for the available volume and audio controls. The exact labels can vary by app version. Keep the phone microphone unobstructed; Streamlabs specifically advises against covering it.
On Android
- Open Streamlabs Mobile’s Main Menu > Streaming Settings > Audio Settings.
- Add an Internal Audio source.
- Check that the screen-capture or game session is using the expected audio source, then make a short test and review it.
Streamlabs identifies Internal Audio as the Android route for game sound in its Mobile Streaming FAQ and mobile settings guidance. If you are wearing headphones, test once without them as well. Streamlabs documents an Android limitation for capturing alert sounds in a headphone scenario; that note should not be treated as proof that headphones disable internal game audio on every Android phone, app version, or game.

If your voice is missing
- Check Streamlabs’ microphone mute control.
- Temporarily disconnect Bluetooth headphones or microphones.
- Test using the phone’s built-in microphone.
- If the built-in microphone works, reconnect the accessory and test again; compatibility of external microphones depends on the phone.
Streamlabs’ FAQ notes Bluetooth microphone and headphone issues. Testing the built-in microphone helps separate an accessory or input-selection problem from a broader capture problem; it does not establish that every external microphone is compatible.

These formats are listed in Streamlabs’ Mobile Streaming FAQ. Confirm that the alert is set to play as intended. Alert playback is separate from the Internal Audio source used for Android game sound.
Tell an audio problem apart from a YouTube go-live problem
If Streamlabs reports that it is live but YouTube does not show the broadcast, or event creation fails, investigate the go-live setup rather than treating it as a silent-audio fault. Streamlabs’ issue notice updated September 3, 2026, marks earlier YouTube Mobile go-live problems resolved after updates; it does not describe a fix for audio capture. For a first YouTube broadcast, Streamlabs’ September 15, 2026 mobile setup guide says livestreaming must be enabled and the account phone-verified, and that initial setup may take 24 hours.
