Streamlabs can show a live timer and status controls even when YouTube is not receiving the stream in a documented Disconnect Protection issue. If YouTube was receiving the broadcast and it then ended, check the connection and phone load instead; the false-live workaround is not a fix for every interruption.
1. Check whether YouTube is receiving the stream
Do not rely only on Streamlabs Mobile’s live timer, FPS or bitrate display, or Stop control. Check the channel’s live view or YouTube Studio. Streamlabs documented a specific “app looks live but isn’t live on platform” problem in which Disconnect Protection fails to connect to Streamlabs servers. The app can appear to be streaming while the destination platform is not live. Streamlabs reported the issue on November 1, 2025, and its support article dated January 17, 2026 lists workarounds: Streamlabs’ guidance for the false-live issue.

- YouTube never showed the broadcast as live: follow the Disconnect Protection steps below.
- YouTube showed the broadcast live, then it stopped: move to the network and device checks. The documented false-live issue does not establish the cause of a genuine mid-stream interruption.
2. If Streamlabs says live but YouTube does not
- In Streamlabs Mobile, open the menu at the top left.
- Choose Disconnect Protection and turn it off.
- Try the broadcast again and verify the result on YouTube or in YouTube Studio.
If you want to keep Disconnect Protection enabled, Streamlabs’ documented alternative is to enable Multistream on Streamlabs.com. This is a workaround for the particular false-live problem, not a guarantee against other causes of a stream failing to start.
3. If the broadcast really dropped
Check the connection
Reconnect to a stable available network, then see whether the interruption happens again. If the phone is switching between networks or has an unreliable connection, that can disrupt a mobile broadcast. Streamlabs describes Network Boost as using multiple internet connections to support mobile reliability; it is an Ultra feature, not a guaranteed fix. Check the current in-app plan details before relying on a subscription feature.

Reduce work for the phone
Before trying again, close other open apps. Streamlabs recommends this to reduce potential lag or crashes during a mobile stream. It is a practical first check, not proof that another app caused the interruption.
Record what happened if it keeps stopping
Note the Streamlabs app version, Android version and device, approximate time, connection type, what Streamlabs displayed, and whether YouTube Studio showed the broadcast as live. These details can help support distinguish an app-status mismatch from a real dropped broadcast; there is no single documented cause or universal support checklist for every interruption.

4. If you cannot start a YouTube mobile stream
YouTube’s mobile eligibility rules concern access to mobile live streaming, especially startup; they do not by themselves explain why an established broadcast ends. Its current mobile live-streaming help says the channel must be verified, live streaming must be enabled, and the channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. Mobile live streaming also requires at least 50 subscribers and Android 8.0 or later. When live streaming is enabled for the first time, activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s broader live-streaming help provides additional account guidance.

- Confirm live streaming is enabled and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Check the channel for a live-streaming restriction within the past 90 days.
- For mobile live streaming, confirm the subscriber and Android-version requirements above.
