Yes—Barnes & Noble still lists dedicated NOOK e-readers for sale. Its current lineup includes the 6-inch NOOK GlowLight 4 and the larger, 7.8-inch NOOK GlowLight 4 Plus. That confirms the readers remain part of the retailer’s current store lineup; it does not establish that either model is continuously being manufactured. Check the live product page and local-store availability before buying.
Which NOOK devices are dedicated e-readers?
Barnes & Noble’s NOOK device collection lists two dedicated e-reader models, alongside color-screen reading tablets. The key distinction is that the GlowLight models are e-readers, while the NOOK Reading Tablet 8.7 is a tablet.

GlowLight 4 or GlowLight 4 Plus: which fits your reading?
For a smaller dedicated reader, Barnes & Noble describes the GlowLight 4 as its compact option. Its product listing specifies a 6-inch screen, 32GB of storage, built-in illumination, Night Mode, and physical page-turn buttons.
#1 Best Overall
- Listen to your favorite audiobooks with Bluetooth or headphones
- Read easily, everywhere
- Waterproof design allows you to read anywhere without worry
- Perfect reading day to night with night mode
- Soft touch finish on front and back for easy grip
The GlowLight 4 Plus is the larger choice, with a 7.8-inch screen. Barnes & Noble lists waterproofing and audiobook support, as well as both button and swipe page turning. Those additions may suit readers who want a larger display or listen to audiobooks; they do not make it a tablet.
These are retailer-provided product descriptions, not independent test results. For current specifications, consult the individual GlowLight 4 listing and GlowLight 4 Plus listing.

Is the NOOK Reading Tablet 8.7 an e-reader?
It is a reading-oriented device in the NOOK collection, but it is a color-screen tablet, not one of the dedicated GlowLight e-readers. If you specifically want a dedicated e-reader, compare the GlowLight models. Barnes & Noble lists the Reading Tablet 8.7 in Seafoam Green and Luna Grey; its NOOK comparison page and device collection show the retailer’s product categories.

Barnes & Noble’s NOOK e-reader support index assigns model years of 2021 to GlowLight 4 and 2023 to GlowLight 4 Plus. It also lists GlowLight 4e (2022) and older generations, including the 7.8-inch GlowLight Plus (2019), GlowLight 3 (2017), and 6-inch GlowLight Plus (2015). These support-index dates identify model generations; they do not say when production began or ended.

Does “still make” mean the models are still being manufactured?
Not necessarily. Barnes & Noble’s current product collection establishes that NOOK e-readers are listed for sale, but a product listing alone cannot confirm ongoing manufacturing. The support index’s model years provide historical context, not a manufacturing-status statement. The most precise answer is that Barnes & Noble still lists dedicated NOOK e-readers; whether a particular model is being made continuously is not established by those listings.
Because the retailer’s pages can show inconsistent stock messages, check the current online listing and your local store before relying on a device’s availability or price. Barnes & Noble also lists covers for some models, but check the stated compatibility for the exact reader before choosing an accessory.
