Valve’s next Deck is the comparison frame here, not a confirmed product with established specifications or a release date.
How to choose a Steam Deck alternative
Start with the games you actually play and the software you are comfortable using. SteamOS and Windows do not offer identical game and launcher compatibility or the same handheld experience. Windows 11 can support a broad PC game library, but the interface and manufacturer software matter too. Before buying, check whether your must-play games and launchers work well on the exact device.

- Display and portability: A larger screen can be easier to enjoy, but a larger, heavier handheld may be less convenient to carry.

What the battery figures do—and don’t—tell you
In PC Gamer’s PCMark 10 gaming battery test, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM ran for 153 minutes in default mode and 308 minutes in Endurance mode. The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X recorded 125 minutes in default mode in the same listed comparison. These are results from that test, not estimates for every game, brightness level or power setting; actual play time depends on how the handheld is configured and used.
That distinction matters when comparing devices: a result from a named benchmark and mode is useful for context, but it cannot establish how long a particular game will run on your settings. The figures are reported in PC Gamer’s 2026 review and battery comparison.

Which one should you consider?
- Choose the Legion Go if its 8.8-inch screen and detachable controls are more important to you than a compact travel-friendly design.
