Why is my Starbucks app not working?

7 steps to troubleshoot the Starbucks app

Check your internet connection
If the app is stuck loading, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or try another reliable connection. If other apps and websites also fail, address the connection first. This is a general diagnostic step, not a Starbucks-confirmed app fix.

Close and reopen the app
Fully close the Starbucks app, then open it again and retry the action that failed. This simple general troubleshooting step may clear a temporary app hang, but it is not a guaranteed remedy.

Check for an app update
Open the Starbucks listing in the Apple App Store or Google Play using the download links on Starbucks’ US app page. Install an available update, then test the app again.

Restart your phone
Restarting the device can clear a temporary system problem. Once the phone is back on and connected, reopen the app. Treat this as general device troubleshooting, not an officially confirmed Starbucks-specific fix.

Find out whether the problem is sign-in or the app
If the app opens but you cannot log in, try accessing your account through the official Starbucks website. If the website works while the app does not, that points toward an app or device issue; if neither works, the problem may involve account access. These checks do not identify the cause by themselves.

Starbucks’ detailed troubleshooting page retrieved for password and account issues is UK-specific. Its reset timings, password requirements, and menu paths should not be assumed to apply to US accounts. For US account assistance, use Starbucks’ official support channels.

For a missing balance, allow time for refresh; for a failed reload, check billing details
Starbucks says gift-card balances automatically refresh every four hours. If a balance is not showing, allow for that refresh interval and check again. For an unsuccessful reload, Starbucks advises making sure the billing name and address match the records held by your financial institution. Payment authorization may still need attention from your bank or Starbucks.

A failed in-app reload does not mean every reload route is unavailable. Starbucks lists reloads through the app, online, and at participating stores. Choose another channel if the app is the obstacle; if the underlying payment details or authorization are the problem, changing channels may not resolve it. For an order or persistent error, contact Starbucks support
If the app still fails at checkout or continues showing an error, use the support contact details in the official Google Play app listing or Starbucks’ official help channels. A checkout failure could involve the selected store, account, payment authorization, or a service-side issue; the available US guidance does not establish one universal cause or fix.

Why can’t I log in to the Starbucks app?
First check whether the account works on Starbucks’ official website and whether the app is current. If sign-in fails in both places, contact Starbucks support for account-specific help. Do not rely on password-reset steps or timing from the UK help page as US policy; regional app flows can differ.
Why isn’t my Starbucks card balance showing?
