1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor two people who want to share a Star Wars adventure on one screen, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the strongest starting point. For couch split-screen combat, Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) offers offline co-op—but only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you want large online battles, consider Battlefront II or the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection. These games serve different purposes: online multiplayer is not the same as a cooperative story campaign.
Which Star Wars game should two players choose?
| Game | Best for | Two-player option established by official sources | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga | A shared, family-friendly Star Wars adventure | LEGO describes kids and families joining forces and exploring together. The game covers all nine Skywalker Saga films. | The cited pages do not explicitly establish online co-op. Treat this as a local co-play recommendation and check the specific platform edition. |
| Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) | Couch split-screen co-op or online battles | StarWars.com documents two-player offline split-screen. It also describes multiplayer battles with up to 40 players and space combat with up to 24 players and 40 AI ships. | Split-screen co-op is listed only for PS4 and Xbox One. Online play has additional account, internet, and console service requirements. |
| Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection | Large online battles and classic-era content | StarWars.com lists restored online play for up to 64 players. | The official announcement establishes online multiplayer, not a shared co-op campaign. Check current online availability and edition details. |
Best for a shared story: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
The LEGO game is the clearest fit when the goal is to explore Star Wars together rather than compete in large battles. The LEGO Group’s April 5, 2022 announcement calls it an accessible entry point where kids and families can join forces and explore. It covers all nine Skywalker Saga films, making it a natural choice for mixed-age pairs or players who prefer an approachable adventure.

The announcement lists availability for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It does not explicitly confirm online co-op, so choose it for shared local play rather than assuming two people can join remotely. Confirm the play options for the exact platform edition before buying.
Best for couch split-screen combat: Star Wars Battlefront II (2017)
StarWars.com says two players can team up in offline split-screen, but its footnote limits that feature to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you want to play together on the couch, that platform restriction is decisive; do not assume the same split-screen feature is available on every version.
#1 Best Overall
- The galaxy is yours with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Play all nine saga films and experience fun filled adventure in a galaxy far, far away
- Play through all nine films in a new, fun filled adventure
The game also supports large-scale multiplayer rather than only paired co-op. StarWars.com describes battles with up to 40 players and space combat featuring up to 24 players alongside 40 AI ships. Those are the figures on the official game page, not independent test results. Online battles are a different mode from a shared co-op story campaign, which the cited sources do not establish.
Online requirements
EA says online play requires an internet connection and an EA Account. Console players also need the applicable online membership—EA’s page names Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus. Service names and requirements can change, so confirm the current requirement for your console before arranging online play.

Best for classic-era online battles: Battlefront Classic Collection
The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is an option for pairs who want online multiplayer and classic-era content, not a documented two-player story campaign. StarWars.com’s announcement lists Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and says restored online play supports up to 64 players.
A 64-player online limit describes the scale of multiplayer, not a promise of a two-person co-op campaign. Check that online play is currently available for the platform and edition you plan to use.

Choose by how you plan to play
- Want to explore a Star Wars adventure together locally? Start with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga; verify the edition’s co-play details if you have a particular platform or remote-play setup in mind.
- Want couch co-op combat? Choose Battlefront II only if you are playing on PS4 or Xbox One, the platforms for which the official page lists offline split-screen.
- Want online battles with other players? Compare Battlefront II with the Battlefront Classic Collection, and check each game’s current online requirements and availability.
- Need a two-player online story campaign? The cited official pages do not establish one for these three options. Do not mistake online multiplayer support for a cooperative campaign.
Check the platform and edition before buying
Official announcements establish broad platform availability, but not current prices, retailer inventory, or every edition-specific play detail. Match the listing to your console or PC, then confirm that the mode you want—local co-play, offline split-screen, or online multiplayer—is supported on that exact version. For Battlefront II online console play, check the current membership requirement as well as internet and EA Account access.
