Together they show whether the service is adding customers, how much revenue it generates per subscriber line, and whether growth is translating into operating results. SpaceX’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 reported 12.0 million Starlink subscribers at quarter-end, monthly ARPU of $66 for the quarter, and company results that should be assessed alongside the costs of expansion. None of these measures alone establishes whether SpaceX is attractively valued.
Which SpaceX earnings numbers should long-term investors watch?
Compare the same measures across successive quarters and year-over-year periods, keeping the time frame and business scope consistent. Subscriber count is a period-end figure; ARPU covers a period; operating results may be reported for a quarter or year to date. SpaceX’s SEC filings provide the underlying definitions and results in its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

1. Starlink subscriber count: is adoption growing?
SpaceX reported 12.0 million Starlink subscribers as of June 30, 2026, double the 6.0 million reported as of June 30, 2025. These are company-reported counts of unique service lines at period-end, not counts of individual people, households, devices, or end users.

SpaceX defines a subscriber as a unique service line directly assigned to a Starlink.com account that does not have a direct, negotiated sales-team agreement. A single line can serve multiple users, and an account can have multiple lines. Managed enterprise and government customers with negotiated contracts are excluded from this subscriber measure. The filing states: “We calculate Starlink subscribers for a period as the number of unique service lines at the end of the period.”

- A COMPLETE LAUNCH-PAD SCENE: This starship model adds a tower, capture arms and storage-tank details around the rocket for a more immersive desktop display.
- MIST AND RED LIGHT IGNITION EFFECT: The built-in humidifier and LEDs work together beneath the rocket to simulate a dramatic launch plume without heat or propulsion.
- SIMPLE RESERVOIR CARE: The integrated water system is straightforward to operate; refill as needed and wipe the atomizing plate regularly to limit mineral buildup.
- HIGH-DETAIL 3D-PRINTED STRUCTURE: Contrasting silver, black and white components make the launch system easy to examine from multiple angles in offices, classrooms and exhibits.
- A DISPLAY GIFT FOR SPACE ENTHUSIASTS: Suited to adult collectors, engineers and students; place on a stable surface and handle the fine tower and arm details carefully.
Subscriber growth is evidence of adoption and scale, but it does not reveal how much revenue each line generates or capture every customer relationship. Read it alongside ARPU and Connectivity segment performance.
2. Starlink Subscriber ARPU: is growth being monetized?
SpaceX reported monthly Starlink Subscriber ARPU of $66 for the three months ended June 30, 2026, down from $85 for the three months ended June 30, 2025. The company calculates this measure by dividing service revenue generated from Starlink subscribers during the period by the average subscriber count and the number of months in the period.

ARPU applies to the defined subscriber service lines; it is not total Connectivity revenue per customer across all enterprise or government contracts. Subscriber growth can therefore occur at the same time as lower average revenue per line. SpaceX’s filing describes expansion and lower-priced plans as factors in the period’s consumer subscriber revenue dynamics. Geography, plan mix, and business revenue matter when interpreting the direction of ARPU; a decline by itself does not establish that the business is deteriorating.

3. Operating profitability: is revenue growth reaching the bottom line?
Revenue is not earnings. Assess consolidated operating income or loss and net income or loss alongside revenue, then examine segment-level performance to understand where results are coming from. Use figures for comparable periods: a quarterly result should not be compared as if it were a six-month total.

The June 2026 Form 10-Q discusses revenue drivers by segment and cost increases including satellite depreciation, Starlink kit production, AI infrastructure, research and development, and Starship development. These expenses help explain why growth and profitability can move differently, particularly during investment cycles or when business mix changes.
If reviewing an adjusted or other non-GAAP measure, first check its definition and reconciliation to GAAP results. It should not be treated as a substitute for operating income or loss without that context.

How should launch activity and mass to orbit be read?
Launches and mass to orbit add operating context about SpaceX’s scale and throughput, but neither is a direct proxy for customer revenue or profit. The company’s June 2026 Form 10-Q reported the following:

| Period | Mass to orbit | Launches |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 2026 | 485 metric tons: 87 customer-payload tons and 397 internal-payload tons | 37 Falcon launches: 10 customer and 27 internal; plus one Starship launch |
| Six months ended June 30, 2026 | 1,041 metric tons: 132 customer-payload tons and 908 internal-payload tons; components may not add due to rounding | 77 Falcon launches, including 17 customer launches; plus one Starship launch |
SpaceX defines mass to orbit as verified payload mass deployed to orbit during a period, including Starlink satellites, customer payloads, and development cargo, while excluding failed or scrubbed attempts. Its launch count includes successful orbital launches and flight tests across rockets, including internal Starlink deployments, development tests, and customer launches; cancellations or scrubs are excluded.

The distinction between customer and internal activity is essential. Starlink satellite launches are internal deployments, and SpaceX does not recognize inter-segment revenue for them; instead, it capitalizes those launch costs in satellites and property, plant, and equipment. The filing says: “Our Space segment revenue only reflects our customer launches and customer activities.” Launch and payload totals can illuminate deployment capacity and activity, but they do not show how much of that activity was billable to customers.
Where to check updated figures
Use the period-specific definitions and results in each filing when refreshing these comparisons. SpaceX’s investor-relations page provides pathways to quarterly results, events, and filings. Label each number as quarter-end, quarterly, or year to date, and note whether it describes the company or a particular segment.
