SEGA’s official gear shop lists a ten-product Sonic the Hedgehog 35th anniversary collection, and some of those items can be bought right away. Others are marked preorder, and two were out of stock on the listing we reviewed. The collection has no single launch date. It is one part of a year-long anniversary program that SEGA began announcing in January 2026.
What the collection contains
The SEGA Gear Store collection page lists ten anniversary products in four broad groups: clothing, accessories, collectibles, and home or office items. The table below uses those groups and shows the prices and status flags displayed on the listing reviewed for this article. All prices are in US dollars.

Why there is no single launch date
Readers searching for a launch date will not find one. SEGA’s January 16, 2026 announcement introduced the anniversary website and a trailer, and said SEGA planned further campaigns during the anniversary year. The collection is one of those campaign elements, and the announcement does not tie it to one release day. The official anniversary website lists anniversary topics and events through July 2026. That schedule shows the anniversary is an extended program, not a one-time drop. It does not show what happens after July 2026, so anything beyond that date needs to be checked directly on the site.

The 35th anniversary and the franchise figure
SEGA says the original Sonic the Hedgehog game was released in 1991, which makes 2026 the 35th anniversary year. SEGA also reports more than 1.77 billion Sonic series sales and downloads. According to SEGA’s January 16, 2026 announcement, that total combines full games with free-to-play titles. This is SEGA’s own published figure. The announcement does not describe it as an independent audit, so treat it as the company’s count rather than a verified industry total.

How to check availability yourself
- Open the SEGA Gear Store and find the Sonic 35th anniversary collection page. The home page also features several of the same products in its 35th anniversary section.
- For each item you want, confirm the status flag: no flag means it can be ordered, “Preorder” means it has not shipped yet, and “Out of stock” means it cannot be ordered at that time.
- Confirm the displayed price in US dollars, then check the shop’s shipping information for your country before you check out.
- If you are buying a preorder, read the estimated ship date on the item page before you pay, since the listing reviewed did not state one.
Third-party marketplaces were not checked for this article. If you find the same product elsewhere, confirm that the seller is selling the official item before you buy, and compare the price against the SEGA listing.
