Digital Deluxe includes the base game and Season Pass. SEGA’s Wave 5 instructions also distinguish the access steps: Season Pass owners update the game and complete the tutorial; other buyers purchase and download that pack, then restart the game.
Do you need the Season Pass to play new tracks?
No. The Season Pass is included with Digital Deluxe, but SEGA says the pass and collaboration DLC can also be purchased separately. If you own Standard Edition or a physical copy, you can buy released collaboration DLC through your platform’s store. Availability and prices depend on platform and region, so check your store listing for the specific pack. SEGA’s purchase guide says DLC content and dates may change; verify the current listing before buying.

SEGA’s instructions for Wave 5 name four racers—Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo—along with the Pizzafire Van and New York City course. The pack was announced as available July 29, 2026. SEGA says the game must be updated for DLC access.
- If you own Digital Deluxe or the Season Pass: update the game to the latest version and complete the tutorial.

Are crossover characters always paid DLC?
No. The payment route depends on the specific character and announcement, not simply on whether the character comes from another series. SEGA described Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5 Royal, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon as free-update racers in its launch announcement. SEGA separately called Axel a free update and said an internet connection is required to claim add-ons in its August 25, 2026 notice. Collaboration packs in the Season Pass lineup are paid content; check the relevant announcement to confirm an individual addition’s terms.

Can you race on a paid track online if a friend owns it?
SEGA’s cited pages do not specify whether a player without a paid pack can join a friend on that pack’s course. Do not assume that another player’s ownership grants access, or that it prevents access. Confirm the current rules with platform-specific support or by checking the game’s behavior before organizing a race around a DLC course.
