The best choice depends on fit, setup and how each instrument sounds to the player.
Is the product name Soma or SOMON?
The violin listings covered here use the spelling SOMON. “Soma” in the headline may be a typo or a reference to a different product; the available evidence does not establish that a Soma-branded violin is being sold. A search result for a SOMA Dvina concerns a different kind of string instrument, not a violin.

Music District lists three levels. The student and intermediate models are available in four sizes; the advanced model is listed only in full size.

How much does a violin cost in Dubai?
For the three SOMON listings above, Music District displayed prices of AED 600, AED 1,600 and AED 3,700. Separately, the retailer gives broader bands across the brands it sells: student outfits from AED 600, intermediate violins at AED 1,600–2,800, advanced instruments around AED 3,700 and above, and master-built instruments up to AED 25,000. How to choose between the models
A higher tier or price does not by itself show that a violin will suit a particular player. Compare actual instruments, ideally with help from a teacher or an experienced shop, and make the decision on fit and playability as well as cost.
Check size and fit first
Do not choose a child’s violin by age alone. Have the player fitted to the instrument by a teacher or knowledgeable retailer; Music District says it offers sizing help at its Al Quoz showroom in Dubai. The retailer lists the student and intermediate models in sizes 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 4/4, but the correct size for an individual player still needs to be assessed.

Compare setup and response
Music District describes its SOMON violins as professionally set up. That is the retailer’s description, not an independent inspection of every instrument. When trying a specific violin, check whether it is comfortable to hold, straightforward to tune and responsive under the player’s bow. Ask the seller what setup work has been done and whether adjustments or follow-up support are available.
Play the same music on each finalist
Violin maker, repairer and player Angela Thompson recommends playing and checking instruments before choosing. Compare sustained notes across registers, then play the same passage on each finalist; strings can also affect tone. Ask what the price includes
Compare the full purchase, not only the instrument’s listed price. Confirm which outfit components are included, whether any setup or adjustments are covered, and what support the seller provides. Music District says buyers can try instruments at its Al Quoz showroom and can ask about regional delivery and school quotations; these are the retailer’s own service claims and apply to its Dubai purchase context.

If you are unsure about condition, authenticity or whether an instrument is a sound purchase, consult a trusted violin shop or luthier.
