What the Solt GGSOMW20B offers
Solt lists the GGSOMW20B as a black, 20L turntable microwave. Its feature set covers routine reheating and defrosting rather than specialist cooking: six auto-menu selections, 11 power levels, a 99-minute timer, and defrost by weight or time. It has membrane controls, a red LED display and a white internal cavity. Solt’s product page identifies the model and features.

A 20L capacity and 700W output make it a compact option to consider for everyday reheating and smaller portions. That is an inference from its stated capacity and output, not a finding from a cooking test. Check that your usual plates and containers fit; capacity alone does not establish usable dish size.

The manual specifies 700W rated microwave output and 1050W electrical input. The 700W figure is the microwave’s stated cooking output; 1050W is the power it draws as an appliance, not its cooking-power rating. The manual also lists a 20L capacity. The Solt user manual is the source for these ratings.

The turntable diameter is not stated consistently across the available specifications: Solt’s product card says 255mm, while CHOICE lists 24cm. If you need a replacement tray, measure the existing tray and confirm the part against model GGSOMW20B rather than assuming either listing guarantees compatibility. Solt’s product card and CHOICE’s public model listing show the respective figures.
Will it fit on your bench?
There is a material discrepancy in the published width. Solt’s manual gives 488 × 328 × 259mm (W × D × H), while its product card gives 440 × 328 × 259mm. CHOICE lists 25 × 43 × 33cm (H × W × D), which is closer to the manual’s width than the product card’s. These sources do not establish which width is correct for the unit you will receive.

Before buying, ask the retailer or Solt to confirm the dimensions of the specific unit, or check its rating label and measure it. Allow for ventilation as well as the microwave’s footprint. The manual’s installation diagram indicates 30cm above and 20cm at the rear and sides; follow the manual supplied with the appliance for setup. It also says to match the supply voltage and frequency to the rating label and not to install the microwave over a range cooktop or another heat-producing appliance, which could damage it and void the warranty.

CHOICE has a page for this exact model, but its expert rating, recommendation status and cooking, reheating and defrosting results are member-only on the public page. The public listing is not enough to verify a test score or recommendation, so no independent performance verdict can be drawn from the visible information.

The Good Guys listing showed 4.4/5 from 481 customer reviews and an 84% recommendation figure when checked on 11 October 2026. Those are retailer-displayed customer-review signals, not controlled cooking-test results. The retailer labels its written review summary AI-generated and warns that reviews may include incentivised submissions. Review totals and ratings can change.

The Good Guys listing stated a two-year manufacturer’s warranty, and Solt’s product card also states a two-year warranty. Check the warranty terms supplied with the unit and confirm them with the seller before purchase. Solt’s product page names The Good Guys and JB Hi-Fi as retailer channels, but that does not establish current stock at either store.

Safety and care points from the manual
- Do not run the microwave empty. The Solt manual states: “Do not use the microwave without any food inside.”
- Use microwave-safe dishes, and follow the installation clearances and placement instructions in the manual supplied with the unit.
- The manual says the appliance was tested against AS/NZS 60335.1 and AS/NZS 60335.2.40; this is the manual’s stated compliance information, not a separate assessment here.
- For disposal, the manual directs owners to follow local rules for recycling electrical and electronic products rather than putting the appliance in household rubbish.
