Solos AirGo Vision are smart glasses designed for hands-free assistance, and the big headline is Gemini integration. Instead of treating “smart” as just notifications, AirGo Vision aims to make spoken, real-time help feel like a natural extension of your day.

Because Gemini features can fail for mundane reasons—permissions, Bluetooth pairing, network access, or the companion app—this guide focuses on what to expect and how to get reliably set up on your phone.

What Solos AirGo Vision are (and what changes with Gemini)

Solos AirGo Vision are wearable display glasses paired to a mobile device for audio and assistant functionality. Gemini is the AI assistant layer that responds to your voice and helps with tasks like answering questions, drafting messages, summarizing info you describe, and supporting quick decisions.

  • 【Move Through The Day With More Confidence】BriteAI app-powered smart glasses help blind and low-vision users navigate everyday situations with greater independence by providing real-time awareness and helpful guidance only when needed. (Support Android devices. Download the BriteAI app from Google Play.)
  • 【Real-time Navigation Guidance】Detect obstacles, entrances, pathways, and surrounding changes with intelligent voice guidance designed to reduce hesitation and support safer movement indoors and outdoors.
  • 【Read Menus, Signs & Documents】Instantly hear text from menus, labels, mail, signs, and everyday objects with text recognition designed for real-world environments.
  • 【Stay Socially Connected】Receive subtle awareness of nearby people, identify familiar faces, and better understand social situations without interrupting natural conversations.
  • 【AI Assistant For Everyday Questions】Ask natural questions like “What’s in front of me?”, “Where is the exit?”, or “What am I holding?” and receive quick, helpful answers in real time.

The meaningful shift with Gemini is that you’re not limited to canned voice commands. You can ask more open-ended questions and expect the assistant to understand context from what you say (within the limits of your microphone input and the network connection).

What you can do with Gemini on smart glasses

In day-to-day terms, Gemini on AirGo Vision is meant to act like a conversational co-pilot you can talk to without pulling your phone out.

Quick answers and explanations

Ask for definitions, how-to guidance, comparisons, or short explanations. For best results, phrase your question with the outcome you want (for example, “Give me a checklist for…”, “Explain X like I’m new to it…”).

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Message drafting and rewriting

Dictate what you want to say, then request edits like tone changes (friendly, professional, concise) and length adjustments. Always review the final message before sending—voice transcription can mishear short names and numbers.

Travel and planning support

Ask for itineraries, packing lists, or restaurant shortlists based on constraints you mention out loud. For location-aware tasks, the assistant will rely on your phone’s permissions and connectivity.

Hands-free note-style help

You can use Gemini for “working notes” by asking it to convert what you say into structured bullets, reminders, or a step-by-step plan.

Prerequisites before you buy or set up

Before pairing, verify the basics. Almost every “Gemini won’t respond” report comes back to permissions, network access, or the companion app not being granted microphone and assistant permissions.

Check your phone and OS requirements

Glasses setups usually require a compatible mobile OS and the Solos companion app. As a baseline, aim for modern versions such as iOS 16+ on iPhone/iPad and recent Android releases with current Bluetooth support.

Have these ready

  • A stable internet connection on your phone (Wi‑Fi or mobile data).
  • Bluetooth enabled.
  • Microphone permission granted to the Solos app (and any required assistant integration).
  • Your Solos account details if the app prompts for sign-in.

Understand what you’re connecting

You’re pairing the glasses hardware to your phone, then letting the companion app handle Gemini requests. If Bluetooth connects but the mic doesn’t, Gemini can’t hear you even though the audio output works.

Setup on iPhone and iPad

Use this path if you’re pairing with an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS/iPadOS version.

  1. Charge the AirGo Vision glasses briefly so they don’t power-cycle mid-setup.
  2. Install the Solos companion app from the App Store (search for Solos and AirGo Vision inside the app listing).
  3. Open Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth On.
  4. In Settings > scroll to the Solos app > Microphone, set Microphone to On.
  5. Open the Solos app and follow the Pair / Add Device prompt.
  6. Put the glasses into pairing mode (typically by holding the designated button until an LED indicator shows pairing). If the app displays a pairing code, enter it exactly.
  7. Confirm the glasses appear in the app as connected. Test by triggering Gemini voice input.
  8. If audio sounds muffled, re-seat the glasses and confirm the phone mic isn’t the only active input (some setups route voice through the glasses when properly connected).

iCloud and account sign-in gotchas

If you switch iCloud identities or change Apple ID sign-in states, the app may require re-authentication. When Gemini appears “signed out,” open the Solos app and verify the account status, not only the phone’s network.

Setup on Android

This is the most common path on Android devices, where permissions and audio routing can be more sensitive.

  1. Charge AirGo Vision so setup won’t be interrupted by low battery.
  2. Install the Solos companion app from Google Play.
  3. Enable Bluetooth in Android Quick Settings.
  4. Go to Settings > Apps > select the Solos app > Permissions > set Microphone to Allowed.
  5. Open the Solos app and select Add Device (wording varies by build).
  6. Enter pairing mode on the glasses (button press per the on-screen prompt), then select AirGo Vision from the discovered devices list.
  7. Confirm the connection status shows as active. Trigger Gemini voice input and verify you hear a response.
  8. If voice fails, check Android’s “Battery optimization” for the Solos app and disable restrictions temporarily so it can keep its audio pipeline active.

Bluetooth audio vs. microphone input

Some phone builds will prioritize audio routing to Bluetooth while still using the phone mic for speech—leading to confusion. If Gemini output is fine but input isn’t recognized, check the Solos app’s voice settings and ensure microphone permission is granted.

Daily use: voice, prompts, and common workflows

AirGo Vision is only as good as the prompts you give it—so treat voice input like interface design.

Use “intent + constraints” prompts

Instead of asking a broad question, add constraints you can state quickly: time limit, tone, audience, or format.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Bad: “Plan a trip.”
  • Better: “Plan a 3-day trip for a beginner, walking-friendly, with one budget meal recommendation per day.”

Prefer short turns, then refine

Ask for a first draft quickly, then correct it: “Make it shorter,” “Rewrite professionally,” or “Turn this into bullets.” This reduces the impact of misheard words.

For messages, confirm names and numbers

When Gemini drafts content, verify spelling of names, dates, and phone numbers. Even good transcription can stumble on “two” vs. “to” or “4” vs. “for.”

Charging, battery expectations, and connection stability

Wearables behave best when power and connectivity stay steady. If Gemini responses are delayed or voice doesn’t trigger, don’t assume it’s “AI latency.”

Practical battery management

  • Charge to a comfortable level before leaving home.
  • Avoid pairing while the glasses are low-battery, since the Bluetooth radio can renegotiate connections mid-session.
  • If the glasses have an indicator LED, use it—don’t guess.

Keep Bluetooth from getting hijacked

If you also use AirPods or another Bluetooth headset, switch them off temporarily during setup tests. Two audio endpoints can cause routing conflicts where the glasses connect for output but the phone routes microphone differently.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Privacy, permissions, and safety controls

Smart glasses involve audio capture and AI processing. You should treat microphone permissions and assistant authorization as a security surface, not a one-time checkbox.

Permissions checklist

  • Microphone permission: only enable it for the Solos app when you intend to use voice features.
  • Location permission (if requested): only grant if Gemini features need it (for example, “find nearby”).
  • Notifications: enable only if you want on-glasses notifications; otherwise you reduce background activity.

Network and data handling realities

Gemini assistance typically requires an internet connection. If you’re on a metered or unstable network, you may see longer response times or partial recognition. For sensitive prompts, be cautious with what you speak until you confirm the glasses are working as intended.

Troubleshooting when Gemini features won’t work

If Gemini isn’t responding, start with the fastest checks. Don’t jump straight to reinstalling the app.

1) Bluetooth shows connected, but Gemini won’t hear you

  • On iPhone/iPad: verify Settings > Solos app > Microphone is On.
  • On Android: verify app Microphone permission and disable aggressive battery optimization for the Solos app.
  • Test with a short phrase: “What time is it?” (or any short prompt) to reduce transcription errors.

2) You hear audio, but responses are blank or stop mid-sentence

  • Check the phone internet connection by opening a web page or running a quick search in your browser.
  • Restart the Solos app and try again without switching apps.
  • Forget and re-pair the glasses in Bluetooth settings, then re-run pairing in the Solos app so the app owns the handshake.

3) Pairing fails or the glasses won’t appear

  • Turn Bluetooth off and back on, then reboot the phone if needed.
  • Move the phone within 1 meter of the glasses during pairing.
  • Remove the device entry (forget/clear pairing) and retry pairing mode from scratch.

4) Gemini prompts trigger, but the glasses don’t output speech

  • Check whether your phone is routing audio to a different Bluetooth device (headphones, speakers, car audio).
  • In your phone’s audio/Bluetooth device list, select AirGo Vision explicitly as the audio output.

5) App version mismatch

If you upgraded your phone OS recently, the Solos app may need an update to match updated permission prompts and Bluetooth behavior. Update the Solos app from the App Store or Google Play, then retry.

Alternatives if you want a different ecosystem

“Smart glasses with an assistant” can mean very different things depending on the ecosystem you prefer. If Gemini integration isn’t your only priority, compare the overall experience.

Using Apple-first tools

If you live in Apple services, you may prefer wearables that integrate smoothly with iPhone/iPad accessibility and voice features. The best choice is the one with predictable audio routing and minimal permission friction.

Android-first flexibility

If you’re on Android, look for glasses where the companion app handles audio routing cleanly and doesn’t fight OEM battery settings. Gemini-like assistants can work well across platforms when the voice pipeline is stable.

Dedicated assistant devices

If you primarily want voice assistance rather than a display experience, standalone assistant hardware may offer fewer setup points and more consistent “always on” behavior—at the cost of the wearable form factor.

FAQs

Do I need an account to use Gemini on Solos AirGo Vision?

Most assistant integrations require a signed-in account in the companion app. If you’re prompted to sign in during setup, complete that flow so the assistant can authenticate requests.

Will Gemini work offline?

Voice interaction can start, but AI response generation typically needs internet access. For offline reliability, you’d need a fully offline assistant model, which isn’t the default for cloud-based Gemini features.

Can I use the glasses with both iPhone and Android?

Yes in principle, but you’ll likely need to re-pair and confirm app permissions for each phone. Keep in mind that audio routing and voice permissions are phone-specific.

What if the glasses connect but the mic input is low quality?

Reposition the glasses so the microphone area isn’t blocked. Also check for phone case interference and ensure the app’s microphone permission is enabled.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How do I reduce accidental voice triggers in meetings?

Use a quiet wake/activation gesture if the glasses support it, and consider disabling voice capture when you’re not actively using Gemini. You can also rely on short, deliberate voice prompts rather than continuous talk.

Bottom Line

Solos AirGo Vision bring Gemini into a glasses-first workflow, which is most compelling when you want hands-free help that feels conversational rather than limited to fixed commands. Getting it to work reliably comes down to permissions, pairing order, and stable Bluetooth + internet.

If you follow the setup steps for iPhone/iPad or Android and verify microphone access, you should be able to test Gemini quickly and troubleshoot efficiently when something doesn’t behave as expected.
