Solidigm Ends Consumer SSD Production With No Replacements Planned

Solidigm has ended its consumer SSD lines without naming successors. The P44 Pro, P41 Plus, 670p and 660p are listed as end of life; owners should check drive-specific warranty status and buyers should verify compatibility before choosing another SSD.

Solidigm has ended its consumer SSD product lines, and its official discontinued-products list names no transition models. The company says it will support discontinued drives through their applicable warranty periods, but buyers replacing one will need to choose a compatible SSD from another current product line.

Which Solidigm consumer SSDs have been discontinued?

Solidigm’s discontinued-products listing marks four client SSD families as end of life, completed in October 2024: the P44 Pro, P41 Plus, 670p and 660p. Each has “N/A” in the transition-product column, so Solidigm’s list does not identify a successor for any of them. Solidigm’s discontinued-products list also says the products are no longer available for purchase and will be supported until their applicable warranty periods end.

P44 Pro and P41 Plus timelines

Solidigm’s P44 Pro product discontinuance notice, dated June 30, 2024, set September 30, 2024 as the last order date and December 31, 2025 as the last shipment date. It listed 512GB, 1TB and 2TB retail models in the M.2 80mm PCIe x4 format; the 2TB SKU is SSDPFKKW020X7X1. The notice said final orders could be fulfilled subject to supply availability. Those order and shipment dates have passed. Read the P44 Pro product change notice.

The P41 Plus notice, published June 20, 2023, set October 31, 2024 as the last order date and March 31, 2025 as the last shipment date. Read the P41 Plus product change notice.

What does Solidigm’s consumer-market exit mean?

In a TechRadar Pro interview published September 8, 2025, Solidigm director of AI and leadership marketing Roger Corell said: “Solidigm has strategically exited the consumer SSD market to focus on enterprise and hyperscaler needs, but we continue to support M.2 form factors for enterprise deployments.” That is a statement about the company’s stated market focus, not a promise of a consumer replacement. Read the interview.

The distinction is important: Solidigm’s continued use of M.2 in enterprise deployments does not mean it still offers a consumer M.2 successor to these discontinued drives. The same interview reported Solidigm’s claim that it had shipped more than 120 exabytes of QLC SSD capacity across four generations; that is a company-reported figure, not an independently verified market statistic.

Can owners still get support or warranty service?

Discontinuation does not by itself establish that an individual drive has lost warranty coverage. Solidigm says it will support discontinued products until each product’s applicable warranty period ends. Check the terms and status for the specific drive, using its serial number, and contact Solidigm Support for warranty, returns, downloads, troubleshooting or compatibility help. A replacement or particular warranty outcome depends on the drive’s eligibility and applicable terms.

For older Intel-branded NAND SSDs, support responsibility also changed: Intel says technical and warranty support for its former NAND SSD products transitioned to Solidigm on October 3, 2022. Intel’s notice says SK Hynix acquired Intel’s NAND SSD business in November 2020 and identifies Solidigm as an SK Hynix subsidiary. Read Intel’s support-transition notice.

What should you buy instead of a P44 Pro or another Solidigm client SSD?

There is no universal replacement named in Solidigm’s lifecycle listing. Start with the device you are upgrading, not the discontinued drive’s brand: a desktop, laptop, motherboard slot or external enclosure may impose different interface and physical-fit requirements.

  1. Check compatibility. Confirm the supported interface and physical form factor in the computer or enclosure documentation. A drive that fits physically may still be incompatible with the available interface.
  2. Choose capacity and workload needs. Decide how much storage you need and whether the drive is for general use, games, large files or sustained workloads; compare performance claims appropriate to that use.
  3. Compare current options. Review warranty terms, price and availability from the seller, along with compatibility. The sources here do not establish a particular competing model as a direct Solidigm successor.
  4. Use caution with old P44 Pro listings. The official final shipment date has passed. If you find a listing, check the seller, whether the drive is new or used, what warranty is included and whether it fits your system before buying.
