In one June 2026 phone comparison, the POCO F7 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 scored higher than the POCO X8 Pro with Dimensity 8500 Ultra in both Geekbench and AnTuTu v11. Those results describe the two tested phones, not guaranteed scores for every handset using either chip.
Benchmark results: what the tested phones scored
Gizmochina’s June 6, 2026 comparison tested a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-equipped POCO F7 and a Dimensity 8500 Ultra-equipped POCO X8 Pro. It reported these results:

| Test | POCO F7 Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 |
POCO X8 Pro Dimensity 8500 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench single-core | 2,047 | 1,603 |
| Geekbench multi-core | 6,620 | 6,411 |
| AnTuTu v11 total | 2.32 million | 2.11 million |
In that comparison, the POCO F7 led by more in Geekbench single-core than multi-core, while it also had the higher AnTuTu v11 total. The figures are reported retail-phone test results, not universal chipset scores. The article does not establish enough protocol detail to verify matching firmware, thermal state, or repeated-run averages, so the results should not be treated as a controlled silicon-only comparison. How their CPU configurations differ
MediaTek’s official Dimensity 8500 specification lists eight Arm Cortex-A725 cores in three clock-speed groups: one up to 3.4 GHz, three up to 3.2 GHz, and four up to 2.2 GHz. A peak clock is not a prediction of benchmark performance on its own; the workload and phone implementation matter too. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 specifications

Qualcomm’s product brief describes Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform features, but the supplied material does not give a comparable CPU core-and-clock breakdown. It therefore supports comparing the reported phone results, but not a complete architecture-by-architecture CPU table. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 product brief
GPU and gaming: what can be concluded
MediaTek lists an Arm Mali-G720 MC8 GPU for Dimensity 8500. Its January 15, 2026 launch announcement claims 25% higher peak GPU performance and 20% lower GPU power consumption versus the previous generation. Those are MediaTek’s generational claims, not results from a direct comparison with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 announcement
The available phone comparison does not establish a reproducible, matched gaming test. A fair gaming verdict would need the same game, graphics settings, frame-rate limit, test duration, ambient conditions, and comparable thermal behavior. The benchmark figures above cannot show which chip will sustain higher frame rates in every phone.

A benchmark measures a particular device running a particular workload, not a chip in isolation. Cooling design, firmware, power limits, and test conditions can affect both peak and sustained performance. A short synthetic score also cannot establish long-session efficiency or battery life.

Which one should you choose?
If the question is which performed better in the cited head-to-head benchmark article, the tested POCO F7 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 came out ahead. That is a narrow result, not proof that every Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 phone will outperform every Dimensity 8500 Ultra phone.
For a purchase decision, compare the exact handsets’ cooling, battery, display, software support, camera system, price, and regional availability alongside benchmark evidence. The tested POCO models are examples tied to that comparison, not universal recommendations.
