Current submitted benchmark averages point in different directions: Tensor G6 leads the available Geekbench 6 averages, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leads AnTuTu 11. The Tensor G6 sample is very small, and the comparison page has no Tensor G6 3DMark results, so these figures are snapshots—not a definitive verdict on every phone using either chip.
At a glance: how the chips differ
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s mobile platform, documented with an eight-core CPU, Adreno graphics, and a Snapdragon X75 modem-RF system. Google’s Tensor G6 is presented as the processor for Pixel 11 phones, with Google’s emphasis on Pixel AI, camera, and security features. The available public evidence does not provide a complete, controlled, phone-to-phone comparison of the two.

| Graphics | Adreno GPU; Qualcomm lists hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, and Vulkan 1.3 support. | PowerVR CXTP-48-1536 graphics, according to Android Authority. |
| Manufacturing process | 4 nm, per Qualcomm’s brief. | TSMC 3 nm, according to Android Authority. |
| Other named platform components | LPDDR5X support up to 4800 MHz, UFS 4.0 support, and Snapdragon X75 5G modem-RF system, per Qualcomm. | Fifth-generation TPU, Titan M3 security chip, and MediaTek M90 modem, according to Android Authority. |
These are platform specifications, not a guarantee that every phone enables every capability. Qualcomm specifically notes that device makers’ implementation affects the features and performance available in a handset. Google’s public product page focuses on Pixel features rather than publishing a comparable full technical specification table. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 product brief and Android Authority’s Pixel 11 Pro XL report are the sources for the specifications above.

| Benchmark | Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | Tensor G6 | Reported tests (Snapdragon / Tensor) | What the snapshot indicates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 total | 2,345,563 | 1,933,536 | 443 / 4 | Higher listed aggregate for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3; sample sizes are sharply uneven. |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 2,203 | 2,755 | 139 / 6 | Higher listed aggregate for Tensor G6, based on only six Tensor results. |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 6,511 | 7,563 | 139 / 6 | Higher listed aggregate for Tensor G6, again based on only six Tensor results. |
| 3DMark tests displayed on the page | Scores listed | No scores listed | Not stated | The page does not provide a direct aggregate GPU comparison. |
These are submitted or aggregated results, not measurements from a matched test conducted for this article. NanoReview’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 vs Tensor G6 comparison can change as more results are submitted. The very small Tensor G6 sample makes its averages provisional; they should not be treated as representative of every Pixel 11 or as a settled performance ranking.
Keep benchmark types separate: AnTuTu and Geekbench use different scoring systems, so their numbers are not directly comparable to each other. Even results within a benchmark can vary with the phone model, cooling, software build, power mode, and test duration.
What do the results say about CPU performance?
In NanoReview’s October 7, 2026 snapshot, Tensor G6 has the higher Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core averages, but those averages rest on six Tensor G6 tests compared with 139 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 tests. That imbalance prevents a confident claim that Tensor G6 will be faster in CPU-heavy tasks across retail phones.

Android Authority reported Geekbench 6 gains of about 18% in single-core and 21% in multi-core for a Pixel 11 Pro XL with Tensor G6 compared with the previous Tensor G5 generation. That is a generational comparison on a Pixel device, not a matched test against a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone. Qualcomm’s product brief does not publish a direct result against Tensor G6.
Which is better for gaming and graphics?
The available evidence does not establish a GPU winner. Qualcomm documents Adreno capabilities such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, and Vulkan 1.3 support. Those platform features do not, by themselves, show how a particular game will run or how long a phone will sustain high performance.
NanoReview lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 3DMark scores but no Tensor G6 scores for the displayed tests. Without Tensor results or comparable game tests on named handsets, a claim that either chip is definitively faster for gaming would go beyond the evidence. Real gaming performance also depends on a phone’s cooling, software, power limits, and game support.

How do their AI, camera, and security approaches compare?
Google describes Tensor G6 as the processor behind Pixel 11 features, rather than presenting its page as a head-to-head chip benchmark. Google says its TPU enables 120x Pro Zoom, Live Translate for Media, and Proactive Assistance from Gemini Intelligence; it also describes 4K Portrait Video support and Titan M3 security integration. Google calls the TPU “50% more powerful,” a company product claim whose comparison context is Google’s own product page—not Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
This makes Pixel-specific functionality a meaningful distinction: Google’s claims concern the integration of Tensor G6 with Pixel software and features. They do not establish that Tensor G6 outperforms Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on every AI task, or that an AI feature is available on all devices using a given platform. See Google’s Tensor and Pixel feature page for the company’s descriptions.

Qualcomm’s brief names the X75 5G modem-RF system and lists platform support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth. These are documented platform capabilities; the specifications of an actual handset determine which are implemented. For a specific phone, check its own manufacturer specifications rather than assuming every feature in a chip brief is enabled.

Neither the listed process node nor peak CPU clock settles which chip is more efficient or faster under sustained load. The evidence here does not establish a controlled comparison of power use, temperatures, or long-duration performance in comparable phones, so it cannot support a reliable efficiency verdict.
Which one should matter more when choosing a phone?
- For Pixel-specific features: Tensor G6 is the platform Google identifies for Pixel 11 phones, with Pixel camera, AI, and security functions described by Google.
- For benchmark snapshots: The current aggregates favor Tensor G6 in Geekbench 6 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in AnTuTu 11, but the Tensor sample is too small for a firm overall ranking.
- For gaming: Qualcomm documents Adreno features, but the current comparison lacks Tensor G6 3DMark scores and matched handset game tests.
- For a particular handset’s performance: Look for tests of the exact phone model and software build. Chip-level specifications alone do not account for cooling, power tuning, or manufacturer implementation.
For the most meaningful direct comparison, the missing evidence is a repeatable test of a named Pixel 11 model and a named Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone under the same benchmark versions, software conditions, and thermal protocol.
