Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 leads the currently displayed pooled benchmark results, but that does not prove it will outperform every Exynos 2100 phone in sustained use. Qualcomm’s chip pairs a Kryo CPU with Adreno graphics; Samsung’s Exynos 2100 has a 1+3+4 Cortex CPU and Mali-G78 MP14 GPU. The best choice depends on the specific phone, especially for gaming, heat and battery life.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Exynos 2100 specifications

The figures below describe the chip platforms, not a guarantee that every phone implements them identically. Clock speed alone is not a reliable way to compare different CPU designs.

Benchmark Exynos 2100 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 What the figures show
AnTuTu 11 1,065,369 (40 samples) 1,294,871 (90 samples) Higher displayed total for Snapdragon
Geekbench 6 single-core 1,435 1,662 Higher displayed score for Snapdragon
Geekbench 6 multi-core 3,555 4,188 Higher displayed score for Snapdragon
3DMark Wild Life Extreme 1,800; 64% stability 2,255; 63% stability Higher displayed graphics score for Snapdragon; stability figures are close
PCMark 3.0 13,533 (fewer than three phones) 13,509 (16 models) Near tie; the Exynos sample is especially limited

Source for all scores and sample notes: NanoReview’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vs Exynos 2100 comparison, accessed October 7, 2026. Sample counts differ by test; the page specifies counts for AnTuTu and the available phone coverage for PCMark, but not for every listed result.

What the results do—and do not—mean

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has the higher displayed AnTuTu 11, Geekbench 6 and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme scores. PCMark 3.0 is effectively a tie in this aggregate, with fewer than three Exynos phones represented, so it is weak evidence for a broad productivity ranking. Together, the results suggest a benchmark advantage for Snapdragon across several workloads, not universal superiority in every app or handset.

CPU, graphics and process differences

CPU design

Samsung specifies the Exynos 2100’s three CPU tiers and their clocks: one Cortex-X1, three Cortex-A78 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. Qualcomm describes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU as Kryo with speeds up to 3GHz. Since these are different CPU designs, comparing the maximum GHz figures alone does not establish which is faster; the pooled Geekbench results above offer workload-specific context.

GPU and gaming

The Exynos 2100 uses a Mali-G78 MP14 GPU, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 uses Qualcomm Adreno graphics. The displayed 3DMark Wild Life Extreme aggregate favors Snapdragon, but a synthetic graphics score cannot predict sustained frame rates in a particular game. NanoReview’s gaming averages for the Snapdragon identify a Xiaomi Poco F4 GT host, rather than representing every Snapdragon phone.

Qualcomm’s launch announcement described graphics improvements against its own predecessor platform. That claim is not a direct comparison with Exynos 2100. See Qualcomm’s November 30, 2021 announcement.

Manufacturing process

Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as 4nm, while Samsung specifies Exynos 2100 as 5nm FinFET. These process labels do not by themselves establish which chip is more power-efficient or cooler in an actual phone.

Why the phone matters as much as the chip

Benchmark submissions pool results from different handsets, and phone design can change performance substantially. Cooling, firmware, power limits, RAM, screen resolution and software all affect what a chip can sustain. The scores cited here do not establish a controlled battery-life or thermal winner.

  • For gaming, look for sustained frame-rate and temperature results from the exact phone model, not just a short benchmark or the processor name.
  • For battery life, compare tests on equivalent phone models and settings; these aggregate scores are not a substitute.
  • For features such as camera processing, connectivity, memory or storage, check the handset’s specifications. Platform-level support does not guarantee that a manufacturer implements every capability.

Which one should you choose?

If you are comparing two phones and performance benchmarks are your main criterion, the currently displayed pooled results favor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in AnTuTu 11, Geekbench 6 and 3DMark Wild Life Extreme. If the decision is about long gaming sessions, heat or endurance, these chip-level aggregates cannot settle it. Compare independent tests and specifications for the exact handset variants you can buy, including their cooling, battery, display resolution and memory configuration.
