The closest comparison of the standard Dimensity 8350 favors MediaTek; a separate exact-name Extreme Edition comparison uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 3—not 7s Gen 3—as its Qualcomm rival. Treat the results as clues, not a definitive ranking of these two exact chips.
At a glance: what the available comparison can tell you
| Question | What the evidence shows | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Which appears faster in aggregate? | NanoReview’s comparison of Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 with the standard Dimensity 8350 reports higher aggregate CPU and gaming ratings for the Dimensity entry. | That result does not identify the MediaTek chip as the Extreme Edition or control for the phones used. |
| Is there an exact-name Extreme Edition benchmark? | 91mobiles lists Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition results and associates the chip with Motorola Edge 60 Pro. | Its Qualcomm comparison is Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, not Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. |
| Which is better for everyday use? | The benchmark evidence can inform expectations about peak performance. | It does not settle real-world responsiveness, sustained speed, battery life, thermals, camera quality, or software support for a particular phone. |
| Are the Extreme Edition specifications verified? | Qualcomm publishes specifications for Snapdragon 7s Gen 3; MediaTek publishes a Dimensity 8300 product page. | The cited sources do not establish an official specification sheet for Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition or prove that 8300 and standard 8350 figures transfer to it. |
What the official specifications confirm
Snapdragon 7s Gen 3
Qualcomm lists Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 as a 4 nm platform with CPU speeds up to 2.5 GHz, Adreno graphics, Vulkan 1.3 support, and a Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System. The platform page also describes on-device AI, camera capabilities, and wireless connectivity. These platform-level features do not by themselves determine how a specific phone performs. In an announcement dated August 20, 2024, Qualcomm claimed nearly 20% improved CPU performance, up to 40% accelerated GPU, over 30% better AI performance, and 12% overall power savings. These are Qualcomm’s comparisons with the predecessor, not results against Dimensity 8350 or Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition. Qualcomm’s 2024 announcement.

Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition
The exact-edition specification question remains open in the available official documentation. MediaTek’s cited Dimensity 8300 page lists second-generation 4 nm process technology, four Arm Cortex-A715 cores up to 3.35 GHz, four Cortex-A510 cores up to 2.2 GHz, Mali-G615 MC6 graphics, APU 780, LPDDR5X, and UFS 4.0. That page documents Dimensity 8300; it does not confirm that those specifications apply unchanged to Dimensity 8350 or its Extreme Edition. MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 specifications.

For that reason, a spec-sheet comparison of the two exact chips would imply more certainty than the cited sources support. In particular, do not infer the Extreme Edition’s CPU clock speeds, GPU configuration, memory support, or storage support from the 8300 page.

NanoReview: Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 vs standard Dimensity 8350
NanoReview displays AnTuTu 11 scores of 1,041,899 for Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and 1,724,757 for standard Dimensity 8350. The page lists 140 samples for the Snapdragon entry and 198 for the Dimensity entry. Its aggregate CPU and gaming ratings also favor the standard Dimensity 8350. These are page-level aggregates, not guaranteed results for every phone, and the MediaTek entry is not labeled Extreme Edition. NanoReview’s comparison.

- Processor Manufacturer: Qualcomm
- Processor Type: Kryo Prime
The score gap is a reason to expect the standard Dimensity 8350 to be strong in aggregate benchmark comparisons, not proof of the Extreme Edition’s exact advantage over Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. The entries pool samples rather than documenting a controlled, same-phone, same-settings comparison, so implementation and benchmark conditions matter.

91mobiles reports AnTuTu totals of 1,077,869 for Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and 1,440,382 for Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition. Its reported Geekbench scores are 1,172 single-core and 3,235 multicore for Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, versus 1,478 single-core and 4,759 multicore for Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition. The page attributes the figures to 91mobiles testing, but the Qualcomm chip is Snapdragon 7 Gen 3—not the 7s Gen 3 in this article’s title. These numbers therefore cannot be presented as the requested head-to-head. 91mobiles’ comparison page.

The NanoReview and 91mobiles figures also come from different comparison pages and benchmark contexts. Comparing their totals directly would mix distinct matchups and should not be used to calculate a precise Extreme Edition-versus-7s Gen 3 advantage.
What this means for gaming and everyday use
Gaming
The available standard Dimensity 8350 aggregates favor it in gaming-oriented ratings, which makes the Dimensity family look promising for graphics-heavy workloads. But no cited controlled test compares the exact Extreme Edition against Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the same game, at the same resolution and settings, on phones with comparable cooling. Benchmark scores alone cannot establish sustained frame rates, temperature, or throttling.

Everyday responsiveness
Peak CPU clocks and aggregate scores are only part of the experience. App launches, multitasking, animations, and background activity depend on the handset’s memory configuration, software, and tuning as well as the processor. The available evidence does not isolate those factors in a paired phone test for these two exact chips.
Battery, heat, cameras, and updates
There is no supported direct winner here for battery life, thermals, camera results, or software support. Those outcomes depend on the complete phone: battery capacity, display, cooling design, camera hardware and processing, software policy, and manufacturer tuning. Qualcomm’s predecessor-relative power-savings claim is not a battery-life comparison with MediaTek.

Choose between actual handset models rather than assuming one processor name guarantees the better experience. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is one device associated with Dimensity 8350 Extreme Edition on the cited 91mobiles page. That identification does not establish its current price, stock, regional configuration, or long-term sustained performance. 91mobiles’ device comparison.
When comparing phones, look for model-specific evidence on the features that matter to you:
