The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is faster in the available benchmark comparison and has a higher listed peak CPU clock than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. NanoReview reports higher AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6 scores for the 7 Gen 4. Those results are useful for comparing the platforms, but they are not guarantees for every phone: device cooling, software and test conditions can change real-world performance.

Scores are from NanoReview’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 vs Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 comparison. They show a directional advantage for the 7 Gen 4 in the listed CPU tests and AnTuTu result; the page does not establish that the scores came from identical phone designs, software or controlled thermal conditions. They should not be treated as a promised score for a particular phone or as proof of better sustained gaming, battery life or performance in every workload.
What Qualcomm’s performance claims mean
Qualcomm’s May 15, 2025 launch announcement claims a 27% CPU performance increase, 30% faster GPU graphic rendering and 65% improvement in AI performance for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Qualcomm identifies the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 as the comparison baseline. These figures therefore do not describe gains over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.

The announcement also named HONOR and vivo as initial adopters, with first devices expected in May 2025, and said realme was among the OEMs expected to announce adoption. That was a launch-time expectation, not confirmation of a particular model’s current availability, configuration or price. If you are comparing processors on the available evidence, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the stronger choice: it has a higher listed peak CPU clock, newer listed connectivity capabilities and higher scores in NanoReview’s reported AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6 comparison. That does not automatically make every phone with the 7 Gen 4 a better buy than every phone with the 7s Gen 2.

For a purchase decision, compare the actual phones available to you. Prioritize the factors that affect the way you use a handset:
- Sustained performance and thermals: Look for extended-load results and independent reviews of the exact model, not just short benchmark runs.
- Memory and storage: Check the phone’s RAM and storage configuration; the processor name does not establish either.
- Battery: Compare tested endurance and battery capacity for the specific phones.
- Software support: Check each manufacturer’s update policy for that model and region.
- Display and cameras: Compare the actual panel and camera hardware, along with reviews of image processing.
- Price and availability: Compare current local pricing and stock for the exact configurations you would buy.
The available platform specifications and aggregate scores do not constitute a controlled comparison of matched phones on these handset-level factors. For a specific decision, use the chipset comparison as one input and evaluate the two phone models themselves.
