Qualcomm’s product briefs also list newer connectivity (Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0), a higher peak 5G downlink and 4K/60 FPS HDR video capture. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 shares the 4 nm process, the 200 MP still-capture ceiling and the gaming and on-device AI feature set, but it tops out at Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.9 Gbps and 4K/30 FPS HDR. Which one is right for you depends on the phone built around it, as explained below.
Specifications side by side

CPU: what the core layout means
Both chips use an eight-core design, but the split differs. 7 Gen 4 has a faster prime core (2.8 vs 2.7 GHz), four 2.4 GHz performance cores against three, and a smaller efficiency cluster of three cores at 1.84 GHz. 7s Gen 4 has four efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. The extra performance core on 7 Gen 4 is the most plausible reason for its larger multi-core lead, though the listings do not isolate that cause.
Benchmark results
| Test (91mobiles) | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu | 1,457,989 | 1,176,492 |
| Geekbench single-core | 1,385 | 1,280 |
| Geekbench multi-core | 4,314 | 3,475 |
These are scores 91mobiles attributes to its own tests of devices. They are not chip-only lab results, and we did not run them ourselves. The gap is widest in multi-core (about 24%) and AnTuTu (about 24%), and much smaller in single-core (about 8%). That pattern suggests everyday app responsiveness will feel closer than heavy, sustained workloads. Cooling, firmware, memory configuration and benchmark version all shift scores between phones, so another phone may land differently.
#1 Best Overall
- MULTIPLE TASKS WITH ONE ASK: Streamline your day with an assistant that gets you. Ask it to Google search for a pet-friendly vegan restaurant nearby and text it to your friend— your Galaxy S25+ handles multiple tasks with a single ask.¹
- START THE DAY SMARTER: Stay one step ahead with a phone that gives you the info you need before you even know you need it with Now Brief.²
- REDUCE THE NOISE. REVEAL THE MAGIC: AI Camera with Audio Eraser lets you capture vibrant videos in low light and minimize unwanted noises so you can relive your favorite moments with fewer distractions.³
- BRING OUT THE BEST IN EVERY FACE: Capture every portrait with clarity and confidence on the Galaxy S25+ Series. The advanced portrait features adjust skin tones and preserve natural textures, giving every shot a polished, professional look.
- MORE POWER TO YOU: Reimagine what’s possible with the Galaxy S25+, featuring our most powerful processor yet. Effortlessly translate your calls, slow down a video, or edit your photos without skipping a beat.
The GPU names should not be read as a ranking. Adreno 722 versus Adreno 810 is a specification listing, not a measured frame-rate comparison, and neither Qualcomm brief offers a common gaming test.
Connectivity and camera differences
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 on 7 Gen 4, against Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 on 7s Gen 4. Wi-Fi 7 only helps with a Wi-Fi 7 router, and Wi-Fi 6E is already plenty for most home use.
- 5G: a 4.2 Gbps versus 2.9 Gbps peak downlink. Both are theoretical ceilings that depend on carrier network and spectrum, so real-world speeds rarely approach either.
- Video: 4K/60 FPS HDR capture on 7 Gen 4 versus 4K/30 FPS on 7s Gen 4. This is the difference most visible to people who shoot a lot of video.
- Stills: both are listed up to 200 MP, so megapixel claims will not separate them. Sensor, lens and image processing in the phone matter more.
Gaming and AI
Both briefs promote gaming features and on-device generative AI. 7 Gen 4 lists Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 and 7s Gen 4 lists version 3.0, but there is no independent measurement showing what that means in practice, and no shared AI score. Judge gaming by device-specific frame rates, heat and throttling in reviews. For AI, confirm that the feature you want is actually enabled on the model and software sold in your region.

Which should you choose?
- Choose 7 Gen 4 if you want the highest performance in this tier, 4K/60 video, Wi-Fi 7 or the newest Bluetooth, or plan to keep the phone for several years.
- 7s Gen 4 is enough if the phone is priced meaningfully lower and your use is messaging, social media, browsing, photos and casual to moderate gaming.
Compare complete phones, not chips. Before buying, check the exact chipset name on the manufacturer’s spec page (the two names are easy to confuse), the memory and storage configuration, battery, camera hardware, promised software updates, regional variant and current price. Where possible, read sustained-load and thermal tests for that specific model.
