Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Performance: What the Benchmarks Show

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 leads the published performance comparison, but benchmark aggregates use different phones and do not guarantee handset-level results.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is the stronger performer on the published evidence. Qualcomm claims 36% higher CPU performance and 59% faster GPU performance than the previous generation. Benchmark aggregates also favor Gen 4, but they combine results from different phones rather than a controlled test of two chips in otherwise identical devices.

How do their benchmark results compare?

NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed in 2026, reports higher aggregate scores for Gen 4 across three benchmarks. Its sample counts are modest, and the results can vary with a phone’s cooling, software, memory and testing conditions.

Benchmark Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 Reported sample
AnTuTu 11 829,894 617,626 10 vs. 31 tests
Geekbench 6 single-core 1,009 938 7 vs. 6 tests
Geekbench 6 multi-core 2,892 2,183 7 vs. 6 tests
PCMark 3.0 13,206 11,509 Fewer than 3 vs. 5 phone models

These figures are database aggregates, not scores from a same-phone comparison. The PCMark Gen 4 result is especially limited by its fewer-than-three-model sample. See NanoReview’s comparison and test counts.

What does Qualcomm claim about Gen 4 performance?

Qualcomm’s 2025 Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 product brief claims 36% improved CPU performance and 59% faster GPU performance compared with the previous generation. Those are Qualcomm’s vendor-stated comparisons, not independent measurements established by the benchmark aggregates above. The brief also describes Gen 4 as a 4 nm platform.

What do the differences mean for gaming and everyday use?

Gaming and graphics

The performance evidence favors Gen 4, particularly for GPU capability. Qualcomm advertises support for gaming at up to 144 FPS, but that is a platform capability, not a promise that every Gen 4 phone or game will reach that frame rate. The handset’s display, cooling, software and game settings all matter.

Everyday performance

The higher Gen 4 aggregates in Geekbench and PCMark point in the same direction as Qualcomm’s CPU claim. They suggest a performance advantage, but they cannot predict how much faster a particular phone will feel; the implementation and the rest of the device affect the result.

How do memory, storage and connectivity compare?

Qualcomm’s Gen 3 brief specifies LPDDR4x memory up to 2133 MHz, UFS 2.2 storage and Quick Charge 4+ support. These are platform capabilities; actual memory, storage and charging behavior depend on the phone maker’s design and implementation.

Qualcomm advertises Gen 4 support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6E. Its brief also lists up to 200 MP photo capture. These capabilities do not guarantee that a phone includes Wi-Fi 6E, supports a particular 5G band, or has a 200 MP camera. Check the exact handset specifications for its camera sensor, supported networks and enabled wireless features.

Which should you choose when buying a phone?

If the two options are otherwise comparable, Gen 4 is the better-supported choice for performance: Qualcomm’s published comparison and NanoReview’s aggregates both favor it. The evidence does not establish a guaranteed battery-life gain, nor does it identify a specific phone that will outperform another in every use.

  1. Confirm the exact phone model and regional variant with its manufacturer; chip capability does not confirm which features the handset enables.
  2. Compare the phones’ actual display, memory, storage, camera, network-band and charging specifications.
  3. Use the processor comparison as one input, not as a substitute for handset-level battery or performance tests. The available benchmark aggregates are not controlled same-device results.
