These are reported averages from device submissions, not results from a controlled test of two identical phones. NanoReview’s comparison page does not state an original publication year for these particular results. Scores can vary with the handset, firmware, cooling, memory, benchmark version and the pool of submitted tests; scores from different benchmark versions are not interchangeable.
Geekbench’s mobile benchmark listing includes device-level examples such as the Redmi Note 12 4G with Snapdragon 685 and the Redmi Note 14 4G with a Helio G99-family chip. Because these are different phones, their results do not isolate the processor as the cause of any score difference.

Which is better: Snapdragon 685 or Helio G99?
On the cited aggregate benchmark results, Helio G99 is ahead in AnTuTu 11 and both Geekbench 6 scores. The sample counts are unequal, and the cited sources do not provide a controlled head-to-head test on the same phone. Snapdragon 685’s listed maximum CPU clock is higher, but clock speed alone does not establish which chipset is faster overall.

Qualcomm’s statement that its Kryo CPU offers a near 15% performance improvement compares it with the previous generation; it is not a claim that Snapdragon 685 is 15% faster than Helio G99. Treat manufacturer capability statements and benchmark averages as different kinds of evidence.

What to compare before choosing a phone
A chipset comparison cannot tell you which phone is the better purchase. Check the exact models and configurations available in your region, especially for gaming, battery life and network compatibility.
- Price and configuration: Compare current local prices alongside RAM and storage. A phone’s memory and storage configuration can affect its real-world experience.
- Gaming and heat: Look for testing of the exact model under sustained load. Cooling, software and graphics settings can affect performance over time.
- Battery and display: Compare battery capacity and charging, as well as display type, resolution and refresh rate. A higher-resolution or faster-refresh display can change power use and workload.
- Software support: Check the phone maker’s update policy for the specific model, not just the chipset generation.
- Cameras: Compare the actual sensors and image processing in each phone. The processor name alone does not establish camera quality.
- Mobile network support: Both chipsets are 4G platforms; neither manufacturer’s cited product page lists 5G support. Check the exact phone variant’s LTE bands, VoLTE support and carrier compatibility for your market.
For model-specific claims, use the phone maker’s official page for the exact model and regional variant. Chipset platform specifications do not guarantee that a particular handset includes every listed feature.
