Samsung publishes detailed Exynos 1330 specifications; Qualcomm’s announcement gives fewer comparable details for the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2. A third-party comparison that appears to offer more benchmark data actually tests the different Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. For a buying decision, compare the exact phones, not just their processor names.
How do the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 and Exynos 1330 compare?
The clearest documented difference is in the information their makers publish. Samsung specifies the Exynos 1330’s CPU core layout, graphics processor, manufacturing process, and several platform-level camera and modem limits. Qualcomm’s July 30, 2024 announcement identifies the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 as an entry-level 5G platform and highlights a peak download rate of 1 Gbps.

Those figures describe platform capabilities, not guaranteed performance in a particular phone. The available evidence does not establish a reliable benchmark winner between these exact chips.

What do the benchmark results show?
They do not provide a dependable, like-for-like verdict for this exact pair. One important source-name trap is a NanoReview comparison that reports AnTuTu 11 aggregates of 607,489 for Exynos 1330, based on 25 tests, and 568,395 for Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, based on 17 tests. That Snapdragon is the 4 Gen 2, not the 4s Gen 2, so those results cannot establish how the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 compares with the Exynos 1330.
NanoReview’s same comparison reports Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core aggregates of 960 and 1,826 for Exynos 1330, and 915 and 2,115 for Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. They have the same scope problem: the Snapdragon figures are for a different chip. See the NanoReview comparison page for the exact pair it covers.
CPUBoss lists Geekbench 6 scores of 824 single-core and 1,867 multi-core for Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, and 918 and 2,093 for Exynos 1330. These are third-party comparison aggregates, not results from a documented, matched-device test. The comparison does not establish matched phone models, software versions, thermal conditions, or sampling method, so the scores should not be treated as a controlled head-to-head result or used to calculate a precise advantage. The CPUBoss comparison is a data point, not a substitute for testing both chips under the same conditions.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why do phone models matter more than the chip label?
A processor’s published limits do not determine the experience on their own. Phone makers choose the memory and storage configuration, cooling, battery, display, camera sensors, and software. Those choices affect sustained speed, battery life, photo quality, and everyday responsiveness. A modem’s peak rate also does not guarantee a particular connection: local bands, carrier coverage, network conditions, and the phone’s regional configuration matter.
For context, NanoReview associates the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G with Exynos 1330 and the Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2. These are illustrative examples, not recommendations; check the regional model and chipset before relying on a listing, since configurations can vary.
How should you choose between phones using these processors?
- Confirm the exact regional model. Check the manufacturer’s specification page or the phone’s model number; do not assume every regional version uses the same chipset.
- Compare the full configuration and price. Check RAM, storage, display, battery capacity, charging, and the current price for the exact handset.
- Check network compatibility. Verify that the model supports the 5G bands used by your carrier in your country. A platform’s peak modem rates do not confirm band support or real-world speeds for a specific phone.
- Look at phone-level camera and software details. The chipset’s camera or video support ceiling is not the same as the phone’s sensor quality, image processing, recording options, or software update commitment.
- Use comparable tests if performance is decisive. Look for the same benchmark version run on the actual phones, with test conditions and software stated. For sustained workloads, prioritize repeated or longer-duration testing over a single peak score.
What the vendor figures do—and do not—tell you
Samsung’s figures of 2.55Gbps download, 1.28Gbps upload, 108MP camera support, and 4K recording at up to 30fps are Exynos 1330 platform specifications, not promises that every phone with the chip will deliver those results. Camera sensors, software, and device implementation determine what a finished phone can capture.
Qualcomm’s 1 Gbps peak download figure is likewise a stated platform capability, not a real-world speed guarantee. Qualcomm described the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 as an entry-level platform in its July 30, 2024 announcement. Neither vendor’s headline capability alone answers which complete phone will perform better for a particular buyer.
