Multiselect V07 is a web-interface code snippet, not a physical box. Its signature behavior is a hover color change and a dropdown where chosen topics appear in the main field and disappear from the open list. The example is part of Colorlib’s 2026 multiselect collection.
What Multiselect V07 does
Colorlib describes V07 as a creative multiselect option: hovering changes the field’s text and outline color, while clicking opens a prominent dropdown. Once a topic is selected, it is shown in the main bar rather than remaining among the dropdown choices. This is the publisher’s description of the interface, not an independently tested usability assessment.

The snippet appears in Colorlib’s collection, “24 Bootstrap Multiselect Dropdown Examples (No Plugin) 2026”, published September 28, 2026. The collection title reports 24 examples; its text says 20 dropdowns retain a real <select> underneath and write choices back to it for form submission. Those counts describe the collection, not V07 specifically.

Colorlib says the examples use plain HTML, CSS, and a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, without jQuery, Bootstrap files, or a multiselect plugin. The publisher says they can run independently or in Bootstrap 4, 5, and 6 projects. Bootstrap 5 can style a native <select multiple>, but does not itself provide the checkbox, tag, or search-style dropdown shown in these examples.

For the examples that preserve a native select, the selected values can be read from that underlying element, and writing choices back to it allows them to be submitted with a form. Check the individual snippet’s markup and behavior before integrating it; the collection’s statement about 20 dropdowns should not be taken to mean every example works identically.
Is V07 the right multiselect pattern?
Choose a pattern based on how many options people must scan and how they need to narrow them. Colorlib’s article recommends simpler checkboxes or tiles for lists of about seven choices or fewer, live search for long lists, and grouped choices for very long lists. These are the publisher’s design recommendations, not results from a cited comparative study.

- Medium scallop recommended for borders ranging from 4in – 8in in width.
- Short list: Checkboxes or tiles may make the available choices easier to inspect without opening a dropdown.
- Long list: Consider search so users can locate an option without scanning the entire menu.
- Very long or categorized list: Grouping can help users navigate options by category.
- Any multiselect: Make selected values visible, state any selection limit before users reach it, and check keyboard, screen-reader, and touch behavior.
Within the same collection, Colorlib identifies V10–V13 and V20 as live-search examples; V08 and V18 as grouped-choice examples; V16 as an option for jumping by letter; and V17 and V18 as examples with selection limits. These are alternatives to consider when V07’s interaction does not fit the list or task.
