The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is clearly the faster chip in the only head-to-head data available. 91mobiles reports an AnTuTu total of 868,311 for the 6 Gen 3 against 478,134 for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and Geekbench single/multi-core scores of 1,023/2,690 against 952/2,261. Those are scores from phones 91mobiles tested, not a controlled chipset-only test, so treat them as a guide to the gap rather than a guarantee for any handset. Both chips are listed on a 4 nm process.
Specifications side by side
| Item | Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Process | 4 nm (Qualcomm) | 4 nm (Qualcomm catalog, 91mobiles) | The same listed process does not mean identical efficiency. |
| CPU layout (91mobiles summary) | 2 × 2.2 GHz + 6 × 2.0 GHz | 4 × 2.4 GHz + 4 × 1.8 GHz | Qualcomm describes Kryo 64-bit CPUs for the 4 Gen 2. Its clock varies by platform version, with a 2.2 GHz version noted and “up to 2.3 GHz” shown in the catalog. The catalog lists the 6 Gen 3 at 2.4 GHz. |
| GPU (91mobiles) | Adreno 613 | Adreno 710 | The Qualcomm 4 Gen 2 page does not name the GPU model in the retrieved content. |
| Modem | Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF System; up to 2.5 Gbps download, 900 Mbps upload (Qualcomm) | Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System (catalog) | The catalog entry is too brief for a full modem comparison. |
| Wi-Fi / Bluetooth | Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 (Qualcomm) | Not stated in the catalog entry | Check the phone’s spec sheet. |
| Fast charging | Quick Charge 4+ | Quick Charge 4+ | Real charging speed depends on the handset and charger. |
| Memory | LPDDR5 per 91mobiles; Qualcomm notes up to 2133 MHz | LPDDR5 per 91mobiles | Full memory support for each platform is not established by these sources. |
Qualcomm describes the 4 Gen 2’s modem this way: “The Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF System packs series-first 3GPP Release 16 5G technology, equating to better power efficiency, unparalleled speed, and reliable coverage.” That is product-page marketing copy, not independent test evidence.

What the numbers mean
- The gap is large in AnTuTu. The 6 Gen 3’s total is about 1.8 times the 4 Gen 2’s. The GPU score is about 2.5 times higher and CPU about 2.1 times higher, which fits the move from Adreno 613 to Adreno 710 and from a 2+6 to a 4+4 core layout.
- Memory is the closest AnTuTu category (173,605 vs 150,246).
- Geekbench is much closer. Single-core differs by about 7% and multi-core by about 19%. Everyday responsiveness may feel less different than AnTuTu suggests, while gaming and heavy multitasking favor the 6 Gen 3.
- The scores are device results. 91mobiles says its 6 Gen 3 AnTuTu value is the highest it recorded on a phone using that chip, and the figures come from real-world testing (91mobiles 6 Gen 3 page). A different phone, with different cooling, RAM, storage and firmware, can score differently. No sustained-power or thermal comparison between the two was available.
Choosing between phones
Judge the handset, not just the chip name. Check these before buying:
- The exact chipset variant for your region; the 4 Gen 2 in particular is listed at different clock speeds.
- RAM and storage configuration and type.
- Cooling, which matters for sustained gaming; look for gaming tests of that exact phone.
- Display resolution and refresh rate, battery size, software update policy and price.
91mobiles lists the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 as a 6 Gen 3 phone, and the POCO M7 and vivo Y400 as 4 Gen 2 phones. Confirm the market variant and current specs before relying on those examples.
