The teams behind Smart Launcher and KWGT say they are joining forces to create Wild Pixels, a new company intended to bring their Android customization products closer together. As of their October 7, 2026 announcement, the formal process was still ongoing; no specific integration release date or app bundle had been confirmed.
What is Wild Pixels?
Wild Pixels is the announced name for the new company and team being created by Smart Launcher and Kustom Industries, the maker of KWGT. In their joint announcement, representatives Vincenzo of Smart Launcher and Frank of Kustom Industries said: “After many years of building Android customization apps independently, our teams have decided to join forces and we are now working on the creation of a new company: Wild Pixels.”

The representatives said this is not an acquisition by a large company and that there is no external investor behind it. Those are the teams’ statements; the announcement does not independently verify corporate filings. It also says the formal process was ongoing on October 7, 2026, so the announcement should not be read as confirmation that every corporate step was complete.
Will there be a Wild Pixels app?
The teams described Wild Pixels as the name of the new company or team, not as a separate app. In the Reddit AMA, a representative said the Smart Launcher and Kustom apps would continue under the Wild Pixels umbrella. The AMA did not announce a standalone Wild Pixels app.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

What could change in Smart Launcher and KWGT?
The teams say they want to share features and approaches between the apps where they make sense. In the AMA, they described sharing code and knowledge, working toward a more unified design language, and exploring deeper integrations. These are intentions, not a dated product roadmap: no specific upcoming integration or delivery date was announced.
One integration already exists
The collaboration builds on an existing connection between the products. Smart Launcher’s Smart Launcher 6.5 announcement documented support for backing up KWGT widgets through Smart Launcher’s backup feature. That established capability is distinct from the deeper integrations the teams are now considering.

Early changes may be modest
Android Authority’s October 8, 2026 report described minor tweaks and optimizations as an early focus, while noting that details about future products were limited. That is secondary reporting, not a detailed roadmap from the teams.

The teams expressed interest in combined app bundles, but said creating them would take work and a bundle might not be available from day one. They did not announce that a bundle is available, provide a price, or give a launch date. A bundle should therefore be treated as a possibility rather than a current offer.
