To refine a weapon in Slayers 2, take an owned weapon to Refiner Hagane in Hidden Mist Village, inspect the next upgrade’s cost and outcome chances, then attempt the refinement. Community guides report that failures can lower the weapon’s refinement level, so check the live panel before spending Wen or ore. This is separate from forging a new weapon.
How to refine a weapon
- Go to Hidden Mist Village and find Refiner Hagane, as described in the Slayers 2 Guide refinement instructions.
- Open the refinement interaction and select a weapon you own. Refinement upgrades that item; it is not the blacksmith’s forge or recipe flow for making a weapon. See the Player Tome weapon refinement guide.
- Inspect the next step before confirming. Check the displayed Wen cost, exact ore name and quantity, and the success, great success, and fail chances. These can differ by refinement level.
- Choose whether to use a Refinement Guard. Verify that the interface shows it as active; merely owning one does not establish that it is applied. Guides describe a guard as preventing a downgrade on failure, not as guaranteeing success. The AllThings. How guide, updated September 24, 2026, also advises reading the listed costs and outcomes.
- Attempt the refinement, then check the result. Confirm the weapon’s new level and your remaining materials before deciding whether to try again.
Reported refinement costs and chances
The following values are published by the community-maintained Slayers 2 Guide, accessed in 2026. They are guide-reported figures, not confirmed official rates, and may change. The in-game refinement panel is the relevant check before each attempt.

| Attempt | Reported outcome chances | Reported cost |
|---|---|---|
| +0 to +1 | 90% success; 10% great success; fail not listed | 125 Wen; 2 Refinement Ore |
| +1 to +2 | 85% success; 10% great success; 5% fail | 250 Wen; 3 Refinement Ore |
| +2 to +3 | 80% success; 8% great success; 12% fail | 500 Wen; 5 Refinement Ore |
| +3 to +4 | 69% success; 6% great success; 25% fail | 1,000 Wen; 8 Refinement Ore |
| +4 to +5 | 51% success; 4% great success; 45% fail | 2,000 Wen; 12 Refinement Ore |
| +5 to +6 | 32.5% success; 2.5% great success; 65% fail | 3,250 Wen; 1 Mythic Ore |
| +6 to +7 | 20% success; 1.5% great success; 78.5% fail | 5,000 Wen; 2 Mythic Ore |
The guide says a failure can reduce refinement and consume the listed costs. Its reported material switch occurs on the +5-to-+6 attempt: Refinement Ore is used through +5, and Mythic Ore is listed from that next attempt. Confirm the live item name and failure consequences on the screen, especially at higher levels.

Ordinary Refinement Ore and Mythic Refinement Ore are distinct materials in the guide’s progression. A community weapons page lists the following reported sources for Mythic Refinement Ore: Slayers 2 Guide weapon and ore information.
#1 Best Overall
- Punch demons with the power of bands created!
- The battle of Tanjiro Kamado will again unfold …
- Sealed Caches and World Events Chests
- Snow and Lost Chests
- Fishing
- Selling spare Mythic items to Ginzo
Those are guide-listed possibilities, not verified drop guarantees. The same page includes chest and cache probabilities, but no official confirmation of the rates was established in the available sources. Check current in-game item or source information where available rather than planning around an unverified percentage.
Players also discuss fishing as an ore-farming approach, including a post asking whether fishing with a legendary rod and fish head is best. That thread and a separate question about easy ore sources are anecdotes, not evidence that fishing is the fastest or most reliable method: fishing discussion and ore farming discussion.

Deciding whether another refinement is worth it
There is no supported universal stopping level or best weapon to refine. Weapon benefits differ, and the source figures show increasingly severe reported failure chances at higher steps. Before committing, compare the gain shown for your selected weapon with that attempt’s displayed cost and the consequences of a failure. If the panel’s values differ from a guide, use the in-game values for that attempt.
