How to unlock Obi Manipulation
There are three separate progression gates: becoming a Demon, acquiring and using the art’s orb, and completing Core Training. Training unlocks the art itself; its individual moves have separate unlock conditions.

- Become a Demon. The reported Demon route involves the Biwa Bell route, asking Muzan for power, obtaining and consuming an orb, completing training, and then checking the skill tree. The Obi-specific guide also reports that orbs may drop from chests.
- Use the Obi Manipulation orb. Follow the active quest and confirm that the tracker names Obi Manipulation Core Training. Use the displayed objective and its counter to verify progress rather than assuming unrelated actions count.
- Complete the Core Training objectives in order:
- Barbell squats.
- Boulder Push.
- Boulder Split.
- Defeat five Mizunotos.
- Unlock move nodes separately. Open Menu → Skill Tree and select the Obi Manipulation branch. Spend skill points on available nodes; later moves may also require Obi Manipulation mastery. One guide lists Obi Barrage at three skill points, but the consulted guides do not establish a complete, current requirement list for every node.

A guide reports that Datai, the Obi Demon, drops Obi Charge. It gives a 5% drop rate for the launch period but also says the rate changed afterward. That figure is not a verified current rate, so check the game’s current drop information rather than relying on it when deciding whether or how long to farm Datai.

What kind of art is Obi Manipulation?
A field guide characterizes Obi Manipulation as a reach- and duel-oriented option that rewards spacing. Treat that as a qualitative guide assessment, not a demonstrated tier ranking. Without complete damage, cooldown, and frame data, a definitive ranking or claim that it is the best art is not established. When comparing it with another art, consider practical range, approach options, grab or control tools, area coverage, and whether you mainly play PvP or farm groups.
