The page notes that some item-card values predate a gear health buff, so check current in-game stats before committing to a build. The Red Oni Mask percentage and the other stated percentages are individual guide reports, not guarantees for a given chest or run.
Damage versus survivability
The same guide contrasts its damage setup with a health-focused example using four Firstlight pieces and a Black Kumo uniform. It calculates +1,045 health for that setup versus +585 health for its cited damage setup, with no flat damage on the health-focused example. Those totals are the guide’s build arithmetic, not an independent calculation or assurance of current stats. The choice is a trade-off: more health may suit survival-focused play, while the damage setup is intended to raise offense.

How the five stat slots affect your choices
The loadout guide says players have five stat slots and five separate vanity slots. Vanity slots are distinct from the slots used for stat-bearing accessories; the fact that an item looks desirable does not make it a free stat upgrade. Each stat item takes one of the five stat slots, so adding a utility piece such as a lantern—or a situational immunity item—means giving up another stat piece.
- Compare the contribution, not just the item name: weigh flat damage and damage factor against health, stamina, regeneration, block, or utility effects.
- Account for your build: consider your Breathing Style, BDA, and clan passives before stacking a stat you already have.
- Price the opportunity cost: a situational effect is worthwhile only if it serves a real need better than the damage or survivability it displaces.

How to choose your next accessory
- Name the job. Decide whether the slot is for PvP, bossing, farming, or ranged combat before comparing items.
- Identify the stat gap. Check what your current gear, style, BDA, and clan already provide; choose between damage, health, stamina, regeneration, or utility based on what is missing.
- Compare the full slot trade. Look at all listed stats and effects, not just a damage number, and consider what you would remove to equip the item.
- Weigh the acquisition effort. Shop gear, mid-tier bosses, later-game bosses, world events, and timed dungeons represent different stages or activities; reported drop rates are not guarantees.
- Recheck after balance updates. The September 30 guide advises players to check gear again after each update because balance changes can alter which accessories are best for a build.
