- Shop proceeds: Your spouse runs an in-game shop, and you can collect its proceeds. - Lover’s Comfort: Digital Trends reports a 15% increase in skill-learning speed for eight hours. The Lover Stone is reported to prevent this effect. Digital Trends describes the bonus and the Stone interaction.
When does Lover’s Comfort apply?
Guides describe the sleep condition differently: one says to sleep near your spouse in the same house, while another describes sleeping in a bed with your partner. Because those descriptions are not identical, treat the exact condition cautiously rather than assuming any sleep will grant the bonus. The reported eight-hour effect is the skill-learning increase described above.

If your spouse is a follower
A spouse who is also a follower can accompany you on your travels. This is a character-specific benefit, not an automatic ability gained by every spouse.

If your spouse is a trainer
A spouse who is a trainer may provide training. Prima Games says training is available at the marital home, or anywhere if the spouse is both a follower and a trainer. Check the character’s role before choosing a spouse for this reason; marriage alone does not make an NPC a trainer.

If you are choosing whom to marry for practical gameplay benefits, focus on the character-specific differences. The shared meal and Lover’s Comfort are not the deciding factors between candidates; follower, trainer, and merchant roles are.
