These are the current models compared here: Apple’s lineup also includes AirPods 4, including an ANC version, so check the generation and exact model before buying. Features and prices can vary by region.

Choose based on fit and noise control
Choose AirPods Pro 3 if you want silicone tips
Pro 3 includes five sizes of silicone ear tips. That gives you size options, but it cannot guarantee a comfortable or secure fit for every ear. If you dislike silicone tips or prefer earbuds that do not seal your ear canal, that preference weighs against the Pro model.

Apple lists ANC, Adaptive Audio, and Transparency on Pro 3. These modes are useful to consider if you want control over outside sound, but the comparative ANC claim above is limited to Apple’s comparison with AirPods 4 with ANC. AirPods 4 is a separate model; its features should not be attributed to AirPods 5.

When the Pro hearing features matter
Apple lists Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, Hearing Protection, and conversation-related features for AirPods Pro 3. Their availability and operation depend on compatible devices and software; some features also have regional or language restrictions. Check Apple’s current requirements for your location and devices before treating any feature as part of your buying decision. These product features should not be presented as universally available medical care. Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 technical specifications provide the model details and qualifications.
What to expect from battery, durability, and compatibility
Battery estimates are maximums, not guarantees
Apple’s Pro 3 figures depend on the stated settings, and actual battery performance varies with use, environment, and other factors. The figures are “up to” estimates, not a promise of the same runtime in everyday use. The comparison material does not establish a clear AirPods 5 battery figure, so compare the current specification page for the exact configuration rather than relying on an assumed number.
