Install the client through the CurseForge app, then use the separate Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0_server_pack.zip when you host multiplayer. Do not upload the ordinary client ZIP as a server distribution.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
The current listed release is 7.0, uploaded August 11, 2026. The project page identifies benbenlaw as the owner and describes a custom sky world, extensive quests, custom structures, mobs and blocks, and technical progression through increasingly difficult machine frames. The listing snapshot reports approximately 160.6K downloads on CurseForge in 2026.

What Skyopolis: Evolved is
Skyopolis: Evolved combines a floating-island skyblock start with guided, question-based progression. Instead of following a conventional overworld-to-End route, you expand a custom sky world while completing quests and building the machinery needed to unlock later stages.
Its progression is organized around machine frames of increasing difficulty. The pack also adds custom structures, mobs and blocks, alongside major technology mods including EnderIO, Actually Additions and Applied Energistics 2 (AE2). Those additions make the quest book more than a checklist: it directs resource production, automation and storage decisions that determine how quickly your island can advance.
#1 Best Overall
The project listing calls it a “question based sky world modpack for minecraft 1.21.1” and identifies NeoForge as the modloader in the current files listing. That combination matters: a 1.21.1 client using a different Minecraft version or a different loader is not a compatible installation.
Current version and downloads
Use the files that match both the Minecraft version and the loader. The official files listing currently shows the following 7.0 packages:
| File | Purpose | Minecraft version | Loader | Listed date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0.zip |
Client modpack installation | 1.21.1 | NeoForge | August 11, 2026 |
Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0_server_pack.zip |
Dedicated server files | 1.21.1 | NeoForge | August 11, 2026 |
The client and server archives are separate distributions. A client archive contains files intended to be loaded by a player’s launcher; the server pack contains the server-side layout and startup/configuration material. Download the server-pack ZIP specifically for multiplayer hosting.
What you need before installing
- A Minecraft Java Edition installation. The listing targets Java Edition 1.21.1, not Bedrock Edition.
- A launcher that can install CurseForge modpacks, such as the CurseForge app.
- Enough disk space for the launcher, the modpack files, generated world data and backups. The reviewed project pages do not publish a numeric storage requirement.
- For a server, a machine or hosting account where you can upload a ZIP, unpack files, access the console and edit configuration files.
- Matching client and server files: all players should install the same Skyopolis release and Minecraft/NeoForge combination as the server.
No authoritative requirement in the reviewed official pages specifies minimum or recommended RAM, CPU, GPU, Java runtime, storage size or player count. Treat any number copied from an unrelated modpack as unverified. Check the project’s current documentation and the server host’s current 1.21.1 NeoForge support before committing to a hardware plan.
Install the client with the CurseForge app
The app is the simplest supported route because it creates the profile, installs the listed modloader and keeps the pack’s files together.
- Install and open the CurseForge app, then choose Minecraft as the game.
- Open the Minecraft section and select Browse or the equivalent modpack search view.
- Search for Skyopolis: Evolved. Confirm that the result is the project owned by benbenlaw and that its description identifies Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Open the project and select Install. Let the app create a dedicated profile rather than copying files into a vanilla profile.
- After installation finishes, open the profile’s settings and verify that the selected Minecraft version is 1.21.1 and the modloader is NeoForge. The exact launcher wording can change, but the version and loader must match the project listing.
- Launch the profile once. The first run can take longer while NeoForge builds its runtime and Minecraft creates configuration files.
- At the title screen, open the single-player menu and create a test world. Confirm that the custom sky start, quest interface and modded item list appear before investing time in a long-running world.
If the app offers several Skyopolis releases, select the current 7.0 file only when you intend to use the corresponding 7.0 server pack. Older worlds may depend on older mod versions and should not be upgraded casually.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesManual client installation and common launcher mistakes
The official listing supplies a ZIP, but the app-based profile is preferable because it handles modloader installation and file placement. If you use another launcher, import the modpack only through that launcher’s documented modpack-import function; do not simply unzip the archive over a vanilla instance unless the launcher explicitly supports that layout.
Common mistakes include selecting Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric or Forge instead of NeoForge, installing a similarly named pack from a different author, and mixing files from different Skyopolis releases. A loader error at startup, missing quest content or a crash before the main menu usually indicates one of those mismatches. Re-create a clean profile from the selected release before copying saves or configuration files.

- The classic UNO card game builds fun on game night with a Minecraft theme.
- UNO Minecraft features a deck and storage tin decorated with graphics from the popular video game.
- Players match colors and numbers to the card on top of the discard pile as in the classic game.
- The Creeper card unique to this deck forces other players to draw 3 cards.
- Makes a great gift for kid, teen, adult and family game nights with 2 to 10 players ages 7 years and older, especially Minecraft and video game fans.
Set up a Skyopolis Evolved server
For multiplayer, download Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0_server_pack.zip, not Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0.zip. The official files page confirms that the server pack targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge. It does not publish one universal startup command or a guaranteed hardware profile, so use the scripts and instructions included in the archive and the documentation of your operating system or host.
1. Prepare the server location
Create a new, empty directory on the machine that will run the server. Keeping the pack in its own directory makes backups, updates and rollbacks safer. If you are using managed hosting, confirm before purchase that the control panel allows a custom server-pack ZIP upload and gives you file-manager and console access.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →2. Upload and unpack the server pack
- Upload
Skyopolis_Evolved-7.0_server_pack.zipto the server directory. - Extract the archive in that directory, preserving the folder structure and file names.
- Read the included README, startup script, configuration notes and any version-specific instructions before launching. Those files are the authoritative source for the pack’s supplied startup process.
- Install or select the NeoForge server runtime required by the pack. The runtime must be for Minecraft 1.21.1; a NeoForge build for another Minecraft version is not interchangeable.
3. Complete the first launch
Start the server with the pack’s supplied script or command. The first launch normally creates world and configuration files. If Minecraft creates an eula.txt file and stops, read the EULA, change the acceptance line to eula=true only if you agree to it, save the file, and start the supplied server process again.
Do not replace the pack’s startup script with a generic vanilla command unless the included instructions tell you to. Modded servers often need loader-specific arguments, libraries or a particular working directory. If the script references a file that is missing, re-check that the ZIP was fully extracted and that the NeoForge runtime was installed in the location expected by the pack.

- Now Minecraft lovers can play a special version of UNO!
- Same as Basic UNO but features Minecraft characters and includes special Creeper rule card. Draw this card and the other players have to draw three more cards from the pile!
- The goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand.
- First player or team to 500 wins.
- When you're down to one card, don't forget to yell "UNO"!
4. Let the world finish generating
Keep the console open during the first world creation. Wait for the server to report that it is ready for connections; closing the process while it is generating can leave an incomplete world. Record the exact release, Minecraft version and NeoForge version shown in the console so you can reproduce the setup after a move or restore.
5. Configure access and backups
Set the server name, access controls and world options in the files included by the pack or generated on first launch. Make a complete backup of the server directory while the server is stopped, including the world, configuration, player data and modpack files. A backup made while region files are being written may be unusable.
6. Connect a client
- Install the same Skyopolis release in the client launcher.
- Confirm the client’s Minecraft version is 1.21.1 and its loader is NeoForge.
- Start the server and copy its reachable address from your host or network configuration.
- In Minecraft, open Multiplayer, choose Add Server, enter the address and connect.
If a player receives a mod-list or registry mismatch, stop and compare the client and server pack versions rather than adding random mods. Both sides need the same pack contents; a client-only cosmetic change can still cause a handshake failure if it alters registries.
Choosing self-hosting or managed hosting
The pack does not endorse a particular provider. Decide between a machine you control and a managed Minecraft host by checking the capabilities below, not by assuming that a plan advertised for vanilla Minecraft supports this pack.
Best Value
| Decision point | Self-hosting | Managed hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Server-pack upload | You control extraction and file permissions directly. | Verify that a custom ZIP upload and extraction are allowed. |
| Minecraft and loader support | You install the 1.21.1 NeoForge runtime yourself. | Confirm explicit support for Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, not just “modded Minecraft.” |
| Console and files | Full operating-system, console and filesystem access. | Check whether the panel exposes a live console, file manager and configuration editor. |
| Backups | You schedule, test and store backups. | Check backup frequency, retention, download and restore controls. |
| Network latency | Depends on your home or rented machine’s location and upload connection. | Choose a data-center region close to most players. |
| Cost | Uses existing hardware or a separate server bill; electricity and administration are your responsibility. | Recurring hosting price; compare the total cost with storage, backups and support included. |
Because no official RAM, CPU or player-count figure is published, start conservatively, monitor the server’s console and tick behavior, and increase resources only when measurements show a bottleneck. Do not treat a host’s “X players” marketing number as a Skyopolis guarantee.
Updating without losing a world
- Read the release notes for the target Skyopolis version and confirm its Minecraft and NeoForge requirements.
- Stop the server cleanly from its console.
- Copy the entire existing server directory to a dated backup location. Keep at least one backup that you have tested by opening or restoring it separately.
- Install the new server pack in a new directory first. Do not overwrite the only working copy.
- Move or merge world and configuration data only according to the release notes. Modded updates can change registries, recipes or world-generation data.
- Start the new copy, watch for missing-mod or data-fix messages, and connect with a client built from the same release.
- Keep the previous directory until the new world has loaded successfully and players have verified their inventories, quests and machines.
For a client update, duplicate the existing launcher profile or export its save before changing versions. A world that opens in a newer pack should still be treated as upgraded; returning to the old version may not be safe after the game saves new data.
Troubleshooting checklist
The pack will not install
- Search for the exact project name, Skyopolis: Evolved, and verify the owner shown by the listing.
- Check that the launcher is operating in its Minecraft Java section.
- Remove a partially created profile and install again rather than mixing downloaded files.
- Confirm that your launcher has finished downloading all files before pressing Play.
The game crashes before the title screen
- Verify Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge in the profile.
- Remove manually added mods, shaders and performance packs while diagnosing.
- Use a clean profile for the same Skyopolis release and compare the crash log with the launcher or project documentation.
- Make sure the launcher is using a Java runtime compatible with its Minecraft 1.21.1 installation; the reviewed project pages do not state a specific Java version, so check current author or launcher documentation rather than guessing.
The server stops immediately
- Read the first error in the console, not only the final shutdown line.
- Confirm that the server-pack ZIP was extracted completely and that the working directory contains the supplied scripts and libraries.
- Check that the selected NeoForge runtime is for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- If an EULA file was created, complete the acceptance step and restart.
- Do not delete world or configuration files until you have a backup; they may contain the evidence needed to fix the problem.
Players cannot join
- Compare the client and server Skyopolis release, Minecraft version and NeoForge loader.
- Check the address and port supplied by the host or network administrator.
- Look for a mod-list, registry or protocol mismatch in both the client log and server console.
- Test locally on the host machine before troubleshooting public networking.
The world or quests appear wrong
A client launched with the wrong profile can still reach a server but display missing items, recipes or quest data. Exit, verify the exact release and reconnect with a clean matching profile. If the issue began after an update, restore the pre-update backup before attempting further repairs.
Public-server availability
Do not rely on an old address copied from a video, server list or saved multiplayer menu. A 6.0 release note says the official public-server address was removed from automatic insertion into the multiplayer menu, and the reviewed official pages do not provide a current address. Use a current announcement or project page if the author publishes one; otherwise, there is no verified address to list here.
