The original Silver Cross Cove is a full-size pushchair, but it is important not to confuse it with Cove 2, the newer generation featured on Silver Cross’s current US product page. The available original-Cove specifications describe a 12.7 kg stroller with a 22 kg child-weight limit and a claimed 5 kg basket capacity; the complete independent test verdict is not publicly visible on Which?’s review page. This review separates those original-model facts from Cove 2 details and explains what to check before buying.
Which Silver Cross Cove is this review about?
This article covers the original Silver Cross Cove, not Cove 2. Silver Cross’s US product page and 2026 manual are for Cove 2, while Which?’s review page identifies its subject as the original Cove. The generations should not be treated as interchangeable: their published basket capacities differ, and measurements, included parts and regional configurations need to be checked against the exact model.

Silver Cross Canada’s manuals index also lists Cove 2 documents and model codes separately. If a retailer listing simply says “Cove,” check the generation, country of sale and product code before relying on specifications or ordering accessories.
What are the original Cove’s listed specifications?
Which?’s page for the original Cove lists the following. These are visible specifications, not a substitute for its gated full test results.

Source: Which?’s original Cove review page. Which? dates its first review to October 2025 and gives the product’s release as July 2025. Its full score and detailed conclusions require sign-in, so the visible information does not establish how the Cove performed across the complete test.
Is the Cove suitable from birth, and how long can it be used?
Which? lists the original Cove’s maximum child weight as 22 kg, but that figure alone does not establish which newborn configuration is included or how the original model should be set up from birth. Check the manual for the exact original-Cove model and the retailer’s bundle contents before purchase.
For clarity, Silver Cross’s 2026 manual applies to Cove 2, not the original Cove. It states: “This stroller is suitable from birth up to 22 kg or 4 years old whichever comes first.” It also instructs caregivers to use the most reclined position for a newborn. Do not transfer that manual’s wording or setup guidance to the original model without confirming that its own instructions match.

How much does it weigh, and will it fit your routine?
The original Cove is listed at 12.7 kg. That is a meaningful lifting consideration if you will regularly carry the stroller up stairs, lift it into a car boot or take it on public transport. The available original-model specification does not provide folded dimensions, so measure your storage area and verify the folded footprint and folding process with the seller before committing.
Also check what the stated weight includes. A stroller’s carry weight can change depending on whether the seat, adapters or other components are attached. Compare the configuration you expect to lift with your car boot, hallway storage and usual routes rather than relying on a bare chassis figure from another generation.
What is the basket capacity?
Which? lists a claimed 5 kg basket capacity for the original Cove. This is a stated load limit, not a measure of how easy the basket is to reach or use when the seat is reclined. Keep loads within the model’s instructions and check the original manual for any further restrictions.

Cove 2’s 2026 manual gives a 10 kg basket maximum. That higher figure belongs to Cove 2 and should not be used as the original Cove’s capacity.

“Universal adapters” does not mean every infant seat will fit. Silver Cross UK Support says the Cove can form a travel system with the Glide Plus 360 infant carrier using the included universal adapters, and specifically says the Silver Cross Dream i-Size is not compatible. Those statements are specific to the UK support guidance; verify compatibility for your stroller generation, adapter and seat in your selling region before buying.
Do not assume a car seat is supported just because a listing says “compatible with adapters.” Confirm the exact combination with Silver Cross and check whether the required adapter is included in the package or sold separately.

What safety guidance should owners follow?
Use the manual for the exact stroller generation and market. Cove 2’s manual cites EN1888-2:2018+A1:2022 and instructs caregivers to use the restraint, check locks and attachments, engage the brake when placing or removing a child, and not use the stroller for running or skating. It also says a stroller or car-seat chassis is not a cot or bed, and calls for Silver Cross-approved replacement parts and accessories. These are Cove 2 manual instructions, not a comparative finding that it is safer than other pushchairs; consult the original Cove manual for its own directions.

Which? identifies its page as a review of the original Cove and describes a test framework that considers areas such as manoeuvrability, folding, lifting, storage, public transport, brake use, basket access, pushing comfort and cleaning. However, the full score and detailed findings are gated. The visible page therefore supports the listed specifications and the test categories, but not a complete performance verdict.

Should you buy the original Silver Cross Cove?
The available facts make the original Cove worth considering if you want a reversible-seat, full-size pushchair with a listed 22 kg child limit and a one-handed fold. The listed 12.7 kg weight and claimed 5 kg basket capacity are the practical figures to weigh against your daily lifting and carrying needs. Because the public test page does not reveal its complete verdict and folded dimensions are not established there, inspect the exact model, try the fold if possible, and confirm measurements and configuration with the seller.
Prices and stock on Which?’s page are historical observations rather than current offers: it showed Natural Baby Shower at £825 and John Lewis at £845 in stock, while another retailer was listed out of stock at £895. Check current listings for the exact generation and bundle rather than using those dated figures as today’s market price.
