What kind of refrigerator is the R-V410PT8BBK?
This black-finish model belongs to Hitachi’s R-V410PT8 top-freezer family. CHOICE classifies it in the 300–380 L size band and lists 375 L total capacity: a claimed 250 L refrigerator compartment and 125 L freezer compartment. Those figures are useful for comparing storage capacity, though the practical fit of shelves and drawers matters too.

How much space does the Hitachi R-V410PT8BBK need?
CHOICE lists the cabinet at 161 cm high, 65 cm wide and 72 cm deep. Its recommended installation envelope is larger: 166 cm high, 75 cm wide and 77 cm deep. Plan around the latter measurements, not just the cabinet dimensions, and confirm the clearances required for the specific installation and door movement before buying. Hitachi’s January 2019 product sheet gives dimensions of 1605 × 650 × 720 mm, consistent with CHOICE’s rounded cabinet measurements.

What do the energy and price figures tell you?
CHOICE lists a 4.5-star energy rating and claimed consumption of 268 kWh per year. These are figures reported on its product page, accessed in 2026; they are not newly measured results from 2026. CHOICE identifies the model’s test year as 2020.
The same CHOICE page displays A$949, but this is a historical page-listed price, not a current offer. Since the model is listed as discontinued, check the seller’s actual price, the condition of the unit and whether any warranty applies. CHOICE also lists a five-year warranty and Thailand as the country of origin; neither listing confirms warranty coverage for a particular second-hand or remaining-stock unit.

Is the R-V410PT8BBK discontinued?
Yes. CHOICE lists the model as discontinued. That does not establish whether any retailer or second-hand seller still has a unit, so confirm stock and the exact model number directly with the seller. For a used refrigerator, inspect its condition and ask what warranty or return option, if any, comes with that specific sale.

ProductReview.com.au shows two reviews for the R-V410PT8 family and includes the R-V410PT8BBK among verified model numbers. One reviewer reports noise and a complaint about the door finish and denting; another describes the refrigerator as quiet and energy efficient. If you are comparing it with another refrigerator, compare like with like: total capacity and fridge/freezer split, cabinet size and required clearance, claimed energy use under the same market’s labeling system, warranty and local service access, and independent results for temperature control, food preservation and noise.
