Consider Greenshot for conventional captures
Greenshot is a reasonable fit when you mainly need region, window or fullscreen captures, then want to annotate, highlight, obscure information or export the image. If scrolling is essential, check the current supported browser path first: its reviewed official feature summary names Internet Explorer. Do not assume that wording guarantees support in a current browser—or proves that no other method exists.
How to capture and check a scrolling page in ShareX
- Open ShareX’s capture menu, or use the hotkey you have configured for scrolling capture.
- Select the portion of the page to capture. Keep the region as focused as practical, especially if the page has persistent sidebars or footers.
- Allow ShareX to scroll and capture successive views until it reaches the end of the content.
- Review the resulting long image, paying particular attention to the joins between captured sections.
- If a join is incomplete or visibly wrong, narrow the capture region to exclude troublesome elements, move the pointer away from hover-sensitive areas, and capture again.
ShareX’s guide describes green status feedback for a successful combination, yellow for a partial success when matching was imperfect, and red for a failed combination that stops capture. Treat the status as a cue, not a substitute for inspecting the final image.

Why scrolling screenshots can have seams or missing content
- Fixed sidebars and footers: Static elements stay in place while the page scrolls and can confuse matching. Restrict the capture region to the main content where possible.
- Animation or live content: A changing image or page element may look different between successive views and interfere with joins.
- Hover effects: Moving the pointer over interactive content can change its appearance between captures. Move it away from hover-sensitive areas.
- Imperfect matching: Even when capture completes, inspect the stitched result for duplicated, skipped or misaligned content before sharing or publishing it.
