SHANTAKARAM: A Browser-Based Pause for an Overloaded Day

SHANTAKARAM is described by its maker as a browser-based relaxation app with calming sounds and interactive experiences. Its launch post is not evidence of stress-relief benefits.

SHANTAKARAM is a web app its maker describes as a place to take a short break with calming sounds and interactive relaxation experiences. The maker says it can be opened in a browser without installing software and is free to try; current availability and terms have not been independently confirmed. The launch description explains the product’s intent, not evidence that it reduces stress.

What SHANTAKARAM is—and what the maker says it offers

SPIRITCH AI STUDIO describes SHANTAKARAM as a relaxation web app for people who feel overloaded after work, study, or a long day. The proposed flow is straightforward: open the app, choose an experience, and take a pause. Its launch post mentions calming sounds and interactive relaxation experiences, with browser access on mobile and desktop as a design goal. Read the maker’s launch post.

The post does not provide a feature-by-feature list, browser or device compatibility data, an accessibility audit, or details about privacy practices. It also does not establish that every intended design feature works across devices. Check the app’s own current information before relying on it for a particular device or need.

The maker calls the app free to try, but that is a statement in the launch post, not a verified current price or promise that access will remain free. No user counts, outcome data, independent evaluation, or named endorsements are established by the available description.

How to think about a short digital break

The World Health Organization defines stress as “a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.” Stress is a natural response, and people experience it differently; too much stress can contribute to physical and mental health problems. Possible signs include difficulty relaxing, anxiety, irritability, trouble concentrating, headaches or other body pain, stomach upset, sleep difficulties, and changes in appetite. These signs are not, by themselves, a diagnosis. WHO’s stress questions and answers explains the distinction.

A brief pause can be a manageable way to redirect attention during an ordinary day, but it is not a guaranteed remedy. If you try SHANTAKARAM, treat its sounds or interactive elements as optional ways to take a moment—not as proven stress treatment. Whether they suit you is subjective, and no comparative test data establish which experience, if any, works better.

Choose a pause that fits the moment

  • If you want a sound-based pause, the maker says calming sounds are included.
  • If you prefer something to engage with, the maker also describes interactive relaxation experiences, without listing them individually.
  • If you would rather use no app, WHO describes grounding as slowing down and noticing the body and senses. Examples include paying attention to your breathing or the feeling of your feet on the ground.

WHO’s 2025 Mental Health and Psychosocial Support booklet also describes slow, steady breathing as a way to bring attention back to the present. These are general coping techniques; the SHANTAKARAM launch post does not say the app includes them. WHO’s booklet gives the broader context.

When a break is not enough

If you are having difficulty coping, WHO advises seeking help from a trusted health-care provider or another trusted person in your community. Persistent stress symptoms that affect daily functioning, including work or school, may be associated with a mental-health condition that requires access to health care. A relaxation app is not a substitute for that support. WHO’s guidance on stress and help-seeking provides further information.
