To set a row’s height in desktop Word, click inside the row, open Table Layout, and enter a measurement in Cell Size > Table Row Height. For a visual adjustment, drag the row boundary; to make several selected rows equal, choose Distribute Rows.

In Cell Size, enter the measurement in Table Row Height. Microsoft documents this method for Word for Microsoft 365, Word 2024, Word 2021, Word 2019, and Word 2016. Microsoft’s instructions for resizing a table, column, or row provide the steps.
You can also right-click in the row and choose Table Properties > Row. Under Size, select Specify height, enter a value, and choose the behavior under Row height is. The available choice matters: an exact height fixes the row’s height, while At least sets a minimum that content can exceed. Microsoft’s guidance on letting table cells expand with their contents explains this setting.
Resize a row by dragging
For an approximate height, point to the border between the row and the one below it. When the resize pointer appears, drag the border to the desired position. You can also select a cell and drag the row markers on the ruler; hold Alt while dragging to see the measurement on the ruler. These visual controls are useful when the exact size is less important than how the table looks on the page. Microsoft Support documents both approaches.

Make selected rows the same height
Select the rows you want to equalize, then choose Table Layout > Distribute Rows. Word makes the selected rows the same size. This command evens out the selection; it is not the way to specify one particular measured height. Microsoft’s resizing instructions cover the command.

Keep a row from clipping new content
Word adjusts row height to fit its contents until a manual height is set. If added text is not visible because the row will not grow, check whether the row is set to an exact height. Open Table Properties > Row, enable Specify height if needed, and set Row height is to At least. That allows the row to grow beyond the entered minimum as its contents require. An exact setting, by contrast, can prevent the row from expanding as content is added. Microsoft’s content-expansion guidance describes the behavior.
