Seiko’s Power Design Project Panda Chronograph turns the familiar panda-dial layout into a literal panda face. Launch reports identify two limited-run quartz models: white HHK001 and pink HHK002. Their reported specifications and launch prices are useful reference points, but they come from secondary coverage dated October 6, 2026—not an official Seiko specification sheet or a current stock check.
How the Seiko Panda Chronograph gets its panda face
The design is based on designer Kiyotaka Sakai’s 2024 concept, according to launch coverage. Rather than relying only on the usual contrast between a light dial and dark subdials, the production watches use the subdials as black eye patches, with a nose and mouth below the hands. Bamboo-leaf-shaped hour and minute hands extend the theme, while pushers at the top of the case are positioned to suggest ears.

Notebookcheck reports that the usual tachymeter label is replaced by “Sasameter.” Its explanation frames the scale around a two-minute timing and a theoretical panda speed; that is playful design storytelling, not a practical claim about panda performance. Reported price and launch timing
Notebookcheck reported launch prices of US$540, £510 and €590; Time+Tide also reported £510. These are launch-reported figures, not confirmation of today’s local retail price. Notebookcheck said pre-orders had opened and delivery was expected from November 2026. That expected delivery date is not proof that a watch is currently available or in stock.
