Other providers publish prices in US dollars, so their list prices are not final Indian checkout totals. The right pay-as-you-go screenshot API depends on how many successful captures you need, whether unused credits expire, how failed requests and cache hits are billed, and the throughput and features your application requires.
Prices below were published on provider pricing pages checked on October 3, 2026. They are vendor-listed prices, not independently verified checkout charges. Confirm current terms before purchase.

Screenshot API pricing at a glance
ScreenshotNeo comes first as an alternative to the providers compared below: it offers 1,000 shots a month free with no card, paid plans from $5 for 3,000, and bills only clean shots. See ScreenshotNeo.
The table keeps rupee and dollar prices separate: converting USD list prices to INR without the live exchange rate, taxes and payment fees would imply a checkout total that these published prices do not establish.

Which plans are genuinely pay as you go?
Prepaid credits for irregular demand
ScreenshotAPI separates subscriptions from one-time credit packs. It says credits do not expire and no subscription is required, making a pack suitable when capture demand is intermittent and unused balance matters. Its pricing page defines one credit as one screenshot; it says full-page and viewport captures cost the same, cached responses do not count, and failed screenshots are not charged. Credits are used after any subscription allowance. The page says major credit and debit cards are accepted and select local payment methods are handled through its payment provider, but it does not establish which local methods are available in India. Check ScreenshotAPI’s current terms.

Monthly tiers with metered overages
SnapshotAPI and ScreenshotOne publish monthly allowances and marginal charges beyond the included quota. These can suit predictable ongoing traffic, but the budget depends on whether you exceed the allowance. SnapshotAPI’s published paid-tier rates range from ₹0.60 per extra screenshot on Starter to ₹0.12 on Business. ScreenshotOne lists $0.009 per extra on Basic, $0.006 on Growth and $0.004 on Scale, and states its prices exclude VAT. SnapshotAPI pricing; ScreenshotOne pricing.

How to estimate your monthly screenshot cost
- Count expected successful captures. Multiply the number of URLs by capture frequency, then account for different viewport sizes, locales, output variants and retries. A single page captured at several viewport sizes may generate several billable screenshots.
- Confirm what a billable screenshot means. Do not treat every API request as one billable unit by default. ScreenshotAPI defines one credit as one screenshot. ScreenshotOne says failed HTTP, browser or network renders and cached responses do not consume credits, but a successfully rendered image with visual issues can count; a cache miss may trigger a counted rerender.
- Calculate the included unit cost separately from overages. Divide the monthly fee by the included quota, then model likely overage volume at the published marginal rate. An included unit-cost calculation is not a full monthly cost if usage exceeds the quota.
- Compare prepaid and subscription usage over your actual schedule. For sporadic work, consider the value of ScreenshotAPI’s stated non-expiring credits against a recurring monthly allowance. For steady volume, compare the subscription’s included quota and overage rate. Do not treat a monthly allowance as a bank of non-expiring credits.
- Keep currencies separate until checkout. Compare SnapshotAPI’s INR prices with other INR costs, and USD list prices with USD costs. For a final India budget, verify the provider’s checkout currency, conversion rate, tax treatment, accepted payment methods and any bank or payment-provider fees.
- Add throughput and feature requirements to the calculation. A low cost per screenshot may not work if the plan’s request rate, output format, retention, support or integrations do not fit the job.
What matters beyond price per screenshot?
Request rate and workload bursts
Published request rates are not the same as a guarantee of end-to-end completion time. SnapshotAPI lists 10 requests/minute on Starter, 60 on Professional and 120 on Business; ScreenshotOne lists 40 on Basic, 80 on Growth and 150 on Scale. If you need to process a large queue quickly, compare these limits with your arrival rate and check whether concurrency is separately specified. SnapshotAPI pricing; ScreenshotOne pricing.
Features and retention
Compare the exact plan-level features you need—such as PDF generation, webhooks, signed URLs, export or storage options, support, and retention—rather than assuming every tier includes the same capabilities. SnapshotAPI differentiates retention, support, API key limits and team or analytics features across tiers; its pricing page lists webhooks and PDF generation on Professional and 90-day retention and team features on Business. ScreenshotAPI lists signed URLs and priority support on Growth, and dedicated support on Scale. ScreenshotOne lists IP location and scrolling/video features on Growth, and GPU rendering and priority support on Scale. Screenshotlayer lists dedicated workers and FTP/S3 export on higher tiers. Confirm the current plan details on each provider’s pricing page before committing.

Failure and cache billing
Billing rules affect the effective price. ScreenshotAPI says failed screenshots and cached responses are not charged. ScreenshotOne says failed HTTP, browser or network renders and cached responses do not consume rendering credits, while a successfully rendered image with visual issues can count. For a service without a clear published rule, ask how timeouts, bot checks, partial renders and cache hits are counted before forecasting usage.
Screenshot API pricing in India: practical choices
- Need rupee-denominated published plans: SnapshotAPI is the reviewed INR-priced option, with a free tier and paid monthly tiers from ₹499. Its page also states a seven-day trial for paid tiers and a 14-day money-back guarantee; it does not settle whether listed prices include taxes. Verify the current terms.
- Use screenshots irregularly and want a non-expiring balance: ScreenshotAPI’s prepaid packs are one-time purchases, with stated non-expiring credits and no subscription requirement. Review the current packs and credit rules.
- Need recurring quota with a published overage rate: Compare SnapshotAPI and ScreenshotOne at your projected monthly volume, keeping INR and USD costs separate and including possible overages.
- Need a low-cost Screenshotlayer tier: Check commercial-use eligibility and establish the overage amount before purchase; the current displayed pricing example does not show an exact marginal rate.
- Prefer transparent billing for clean captures: ScreenshotNeo bills only clean shots; its response reports page verdict and billing status. It also offers an MCP server for AI agents and a free monthly tier. See the ScreenshotNeo service and the setup block below.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a one-request website screenshot API: provide a URL and receive an image or PDF. It removes cookie/consent banners from 60+ known platforms, along with newsletter popups and chat widgets, before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and responses report which outcome occurred. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 shots/month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Every feature is on every plan.

How to verify the final price from India
- Open the provider’s official pricing page and confirm that the plan, quota, overage and feature list still match the published snapshot above.
- Check whether the price is monthly or a one-time purchase, whether an allowance resets, and whether unused credits expire.
- At checkout, confirm the currency charged, applicable taxes, conversion rate and payment methods available to you in India. For USD plans, account for any bank or payment-provider conversion fees.
- Before sending production traffic, check how the provider bills failed attempts, cached responses and successful captures with visual defects. Test a representative workload and monitor usage through the provider’s available billing or usage tools.
Common pricing mistakes to avoid
- Comparing a USD list price directly with an INR checkout total: they are different measures. Verify conversion and tax at checkout.
- Using the included quota as the expected monthly bill: add forecast overages at the published marginal rate, if one is available.
- Assuming retries, variants or full-page renders are free or count as one unit: check the provider’s definition of a screenshot and the billing rules for the specific capture mode.
- Counting failed attempts as successful work—or assuming every error is free: providers publish different failure rules. Confirm how the relevant response outcomes affect usage.
- Choosing on unit price alone: compare request rate, plan features, retention, support and output needs for your real workload.
- Budgeting from an undisclosed overage rate: Screenshotlayer’s displayed pricing example does not establish its exact current rate. Get the figure from the provider before estimating extra usage.
