To add Scoop command completions in PowerShell, install the community scoop-completion module from Scoop’s extras bucket, import it in the current session, and add the import command to the PowerShell profile used by that host if you want it to load automatically. The project documents Tab to cycle through suggestions and Ctrl+Space to open menu completion. See the project’s setup instructions.
Install the Scoop completion module
The completion feature is provided by a separate module; installing Scoop by itself does not install this setup. The project lists Scoop and PowerShell 5 or later as prerequisites. Open a regular PowerShell terminal and run:

scoop bucket add extras
scoop install scoop-completion
Scoop is a Windows command-line installer, and its official repository demonstrates installation from a non-administrator PowerShell terminal: Scoop on GitHub. For Scoop installation prerequisites, its current installer README specifies PowerShell latest or Windows PowerShell 5.1, FullLanguage mode, and an execution policy of RemoteSigned, Unrestricted, or Bypass.

Import it for the current PowerShell session
After installing, run the import command documented by the project:
#1 Best Overall
Import-Module "$($(Get-Item $(Get-Command scoop.ps1).Path).Directory.Parent.FullName)modulesscoop-completion"
This imports the module into the current session. The project uses a path derived from the location of scoop.ps1 rather than relying on module discovery. It notes that PowerShell Core may not respect $env:PSModulePath in this arrangement, so the explicit path can matter if a plain Import-Module scoop-completion fails.
Scoop’s PowerShell Modules wiki describes how manifests can identify a psmodule and how Scoop links modules into its modules directory. That page was last edited in 2017, so treat it as background on Scoop’s module-linking design rather than a guarantee about every current PowerShell Core configuration: Scoop PowerShell Modules wiki.

Make completions load in future sessions
To persist the setup, place the same import command in the PowerShell profile that applies to the user and host where you run Scoop. The project advises creating $PROFILE if it does not exist, checking its path, and adding the import line there. For example:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteif (!(Test-Path $PROFILE)) { New-Item -ItemType File -Path $PROFILE -Force }
notepad $PROFILE
In the profile file that opens, add:
Import-Module "$($(Get-Item $(Get-Command scoop.ps1).Path).Directory.Parent.FullName)modulesscoop-completion"
PowerShell has multiple profile scopes, so editing one profile does not necessarily enable the module for every user or host. Confirm that $PROFILE points to the profile for the PowerShell application you intend to use; consult the project’s documentation for all-users and all-hosts behavior: scoop-completion README.

Use Tab and menu completion
Type part of a Scoop command and press Tab to cycle through completion entries. Press Ctrl+Space to trigger menu completion, as documented by the module project. PowerShell’s completion interaction can be configured more broadly, including through its MenuComplete function; Microsoft Learn also describes completion improvements in newer PowerShell versions. Those general shell features do not establish identical Scoop-module behavior across every PowerShell version: Microsoft Learn: about_Tab_Expansion.

scoop-completionis the project used in the Scoop bucket installation above. The PowerShell Gallery lists version 0.2.3, a minimum PowerShell version of 5.0, and a last-updated date of June 4, 2020. Those are Gallery listing metadata, not proof that every installation is compatible or that the project is actively maintained: PowerShell Gallery listing.scoop-tab-completionis a distinct Gallery package. Its package content says it is no longer maintained and recommends PSCompletions, with the commandpsc add scoop. That warning belongs to the package content, not to Scoop or Microsoft: scoop-tab-completion package.
If the import or completion behavior fails, first check that you installed scoop-completion, that the session can locate scoop.ps1, and that the profile you edited belongs to the current host. The older Gallery update metadata makes it sensible to verify compatibility against the project’s current instructions before relying on it in a newer environment.
